WISH Away the Pounds - Spectacular September Challenge...Everyone Welcome

TUESDAY QOTD - what Disney resort hotel best expresses your personality and why?

Awesome question! I will be (basically) a first timer next year and have never stayed at any of the resorts, so I especially love reading the responses everyone has and thinking about where I might fit in. Keep 'em coming!

Good luck to all this final week of September! This week is really bad for me because I have a lot of work, school and internship responsibilities all coming due at once. And tomorrow I have to give up one of my few scheduled exericse session because I unexpectedly have to be in court for my internship. :sad2: But I am staying on track so far with food and hopefully my efforts will be shown at the end of the week. For anyone else in the same boat, extra good luck these next couple of days. Let's hang in there! :cheer2:

Hi all! I've barely been on here lately. 4 pages to catch up on! Phew!

I was a "loser" again this past friday. "Only" .8 pounds but I'm at a total of 2.5ish for the month and the scale has been showing another 2 for the last couple of days. It's been months since I've lost anything so I think that this thread is really helping me stay focused. :)

Now to catch up on QOTD:

Saturday's- my next mini-goal is to get under 150. the lowest I got before the holidays (and a trip to disney!) last winter was 149. That was the lowest the scale has been since high school, I would say. If the progress I've made continues, I should be there in no time, maybe even within 2 weeks. :)

Monday- my go to spice other than the regular old salt and pepper is lemon-pepper. i put it on EVERYTHING! tilapia, chicken, veggies. it's my favorite.

Tuesday- what a hard question! i'm not entirely sure! i would say that probably the Boardwalk. I grew up going to the Jersey Shore and I am a beach girl through and through.

sounds like you are doing awesome under the circumstances!!

I have to fess up, I did not get my workout in, it was noon before I realized it and I was having guilt of not getting things done around the house. problem is, I still didn't get much done around the house! I really need to make decisions that keep me more active during the day. I did stay in my calories for it and my stomach is empty right now! good feeling to go to bed on.

WEDNESDAY QOTD -- 2 questions: 1. Which classic Disney movie to love to watch over and over again. I mean from before 1970 2. Which more recent movie to do you enjoy watching. It could be live action or animation

my all time classic favorites are two, Mary Poppins and Alice in Wonderland. My more recent movie favorite, that's harder... i'll say The Incredibles. I just love Edna Moe, and the whole storyline

QOTD: Old movie = Mary Poppins and Peter Pan. New movie = Tangled and Finding Nemo.

In response to the question of the day....

My favorite classic is Snow White. My favorite more recent movie is The Little Mermaid.

Hi everyone!

This week has been nuts so far. At what point does nuts become normal - it's nuts all the time! :rotfl2:

I've had a really great running week so far. Here in northern VA, our temps have fallen to the perfect point - around 50 first thing and up to the mid-70s during the day. I ran 5 miles Sunday afternoon, 4 miles Monday night, and 3.1 this morning at some of my best times in ages. It just feels so good to get out and go! My next half marathon is October 12th in CT; I get to run that one with my cousin, and my mom will get to see me run for the first time. :)

Today's QOTD: I think my favorite classic is Sleeping Beauty. I <3 Maleficent in all her evil glory! I have one of those little vinyl POP characters of her on my desk, and she keeps me strong when I want to bang my head against the keyboard.

I have loved so many of the modern movies! Little Mermaid is an instant classic, and I adore Tangled and Brave. I'm going out on a limb for Frozen. The songs are all written by my college friend Bobby and his wife Kristen, and I'm so excited to see a sisters movie. It doesn't hurt that I have my own Anna, who is quite excited about there being an Anna in the film!

I'm hoping for a good WI on Friday, and I might make it my last for September. I'm feeling great about the progress I'm making toward what I thought was kind of an unrealistic goal. Who knew? :) On Friday, my sister comes into town, and we're escaping to a local hotel for a weekend of good restaurants, shopping, spa, you name it. She's in a lousy place right now - her husband left her after almost ten years of marriage - and ONE WEEK after they moved into their new house in CA. They have two sweet little girls, and they moved there for his job. So she's dealing with a lot of *&@%^#% right now, to put it mildly. I went out there when it all came apart in early August, and we talk every day now - I'm so glad she's coming here for a much-needed break.

So my focus may not be as laser-sharp this weekend as it has been this month! But I'm so happy with my progress - I think I've reined it in after an overindulgent summer without feeling deprived.

Hope everyone has a great week!

XO
Liz

Liz, where are you running in CT?

I'm having a good day so far!
Weighed in at 169.8! Yay!
And did a little clothes shopping today and didn't go completely mad! I even bought some stuff.
I'm not one to really look at myself in a full length mirror but today I did actually take a good long look and was pretty happy with the way I look in clothes. Not so much out of clothes, but after 4 kids I think I can live with that.

:furious: this is my problem too!! that was good to read Lisa, that weekends account for 1/3 of the year! wow!!

That was the subject for the Weight Watchers meetings last week and quite an eye opener! :faint:

:yay: that's what I do! I love the pumpkin spice latte, I look forward to it every year!!

I do, too, it is one of my favorites! :goodvibes

Sent you a PM about coaching and stickies. :thanks:

not feeling my best today - scratchy throat and sniffles so eating some tomato soup and grilled cheese - not the best for Atkins but much better then my vinegarette salad dressing.. really wish today was the turkey noodle soup but that is tomorrow.. hope to be fine tomorrow because after my Hubs goes to his Neuro appt we are headed to one of the Local Fairs for the rest of the day! Fun Fun.. :cheer2: Talk to you all on thursday!

Sorry you were not feeling well and hope you are feeling better today! :flower3:

Sorry everyone, I got distracted last night and didn't finish updating the colours, but I have done them now!

I think my personality is definitely POP....I'm a 60's child and have probably followed most of the iconic trends that POP represents...I'm also pretty loud and colourful, so it suits me perfectly!!! (and fits my budget too!!! Sometimes wish I could afford to be more Grand Floridian though!)

Thanks for hostessing this month! :thanks:

My personality would be the Beach Club. I love nothing better than a beach vacation or cruise. I love the sand, the sun and the waves. If I could pick DCL that would be my favorite "resort."

LOL! DCL would be one of my top picks, too! ::yes::

I will be working on the October thread this week-end. I still need one brave soul to volunteer for a coaching stint. :flower3:

It's the Hartford Half! October 12th, in town. Where in CT are you? My mom lives in Middletown (I grew up in Higganum).

XO
Liz

Well crud, we'll be in Disney that weekend, but you will be near DS17!! He's running at Wickham park that weekend. So I will cheer for both of you Saturday!

We are out by the casino's. We go to Middletown a lot during indoor track, they run at Wesleyan.

Evening friends! Here in. RI with DD! Just wanted to pop on while I had wifi here in the field house. No "guest wifi" in the dorms. Good day, happy to see DD, but she is sooo busy i think we have spent about 90 minutes together, including lunch, since I got here.

I'll pop on tomorrow evening when I am home if I have time before DS's school open house! Otherwise I'll be on on Friday! .......... P

Good luck with your crazy schedule -- you can do it! :thumbsup2

Do you know where you want to stay next year? A first time trip will be so much fun! :cool2:

Yes, we have our reservations at POP. I was looking at moderates but DH really wanted the whole overwhelming Disney thing as this is a surprise trip for DD and he wanted it all to be about her.

My favorite classic movie is Cinderella. princess: When I was little our only three princesses were Cinderella, Snow White and Aurora and Cinderella had the best clothes. :rotfl2:

Another big Cinderella fan here! Mainly because of Lucifer, the cat. I also like Lady and the Tramp, again for Si and Am, the evil cats. I have a thing for mean cats. As for newer films, does Nightmare Before Christmas count? Love Tim Burton and Danny Elfman!

classic Disney movie (I need to watch but haven't yet)
would be 'So Dear to My Heart"

New = "Blackbeard's Ghost":cool1:

P.S. kicking my chocolate chip cookie and Ruffles habit seemed to be REALLY helping as this week I feel like I have been shot outta cannon (which is a good thing) ;)
in regards to weight loss totals but looking forward to Monday's weigh in (I am assuming it's Monday?? yes / No??).

Knewton64 - apples - we like Macintosh out here in the Northeast - sweet and tart all at the same time - for pies and applesauce we use Courtland which are very close to Mac but maybe a bit sweeter and softer however in the winter/spring we eat the green ones..

fave Green food - celery.. MMM munching on some right now with my lunch!

I am feeling better thankfully - throat is dry so throat lozengers are my BFF's right now.. had a great time at the fair and while I indulged some I didn't think it was too bad.. I ate 1 piece of fried haddock with about 10 homemade FF, had about 3 Onion Rings, 2 bites of a cannoli and 1 deep fried Oreo.. and that was it for the rest of the day.

Favorite green food: there are so many! I love broccoli, cucumbers, spinach, romaine lettuce, pickles (I know, they're cucumbers). The only thing I can't seem to get a liking for is kale. I've tried all kinds of ways and it just smells too weird for me.

My favorite old movies are 101 Dalmations and the original Parent Trap. My favorite newer movie has to be Beauty and the Beast (big long story behind that one) and all of the Toy Storys since that is something my boys grew up with. 3 came out while ds2 was in college.

Just a quick stop by. I leave tomorrow morning at 4am to head to Kansas City for our niece's wedding on Sat. It was so strange to leave on a Thursday and say See you Tuesday. I really didn't want to rush back on Sunday so I took 2 personal days. I really don't have a great time at weddings but it is nice to get away.

Have a happy and healthy day.
