Last year we tried to go to wilderness lodge to view Christmas decorations but were told for guests only. Does anyone know is that the case again this year and is it for a certain time frame ?

Were you trying to park at the resort? If so, that is why they may have told you that. No reservation for a restaurant or not being a guest there, they won't allow you to park.

It depends how full the resort is and if the parking lot is full. Those staying there and that have reservations get priority. We are going this weekend and will take the boat from MK. If you want to park at the resort, I would get a reservation at whispering canyon cafe. It usually has same day reservations (not sure if it will now due to how busy parks will be) and everyone in my party loves it. Other options would be to take the boat from Contemporary or Fort Wilderness, but not sure how successful you will be getting there. Hope this helps.

All the resorts are available for anyone to tour and walk around, now parking can be an issue. If you are staying on property, just go to MK and take a boat and enjoy.

As others have said, if you're attempting to drive to WL during high traffic times--and the holidays qualify for much of that time--then you may be denied entry unless you also have a dining reservation. Otherwise, there is no reason you can't go there: take a boat, take a bus, take Uber, take a taxi. While you're at it, I'd also take a boat from WL over to FW to walk around there, as well. Many of the RV owners put up humorous, whimsical, and thoroughly enjoyable lights, decorations, and inflatables.

We viewed them last year and were not guests - we parked at Fort Wilderness and took the boat over :) The decorations at Fort Wilderness really ARE amazing, as pp noted...

Just note that this year the policy at FW is under no circumstance can a day guest park there, unless they have a reservation for dining or activity or are a guest of FW. They lost a lot of the parking lot to Reflections construction and staging. This policy seems to be enforced no matter how busy or not FW is and went into effect this summer.

I’m going next week but plan to take the boat from BLT over to see all of them, sit and enjoy a drink with a friend!

Sorry, should have specified: We were not guests of Wilderness Lodge, but we WERE guests at the Fort Wilderness campsites that night.

Ah yes we had our own vehicle. This year we will take the bus over. Thank you very much everyone for the replies.
