Hello All,
My family and I went to Disney World this summer for 9 days and 8 nights in a split stay in the same resort and same room. Now you might say, what??
Well, we went down on 8/23 and in order to get free dining during our trip, we had to check out of our room on 8/25 and check back in. Our CM at Art of Animation at check in was wonderful and called to block our room so we didnt have to move into another suite during our stay. So onto the questions
Who: Who are we?
I am Karla, mom, wife and planner of all trips for our family. My favorite things to plan are our Disney trips and our cruises. I am 43 and love food. I am not a foodie, I just love food. I love seafood, steaks, chicken, some fish, a few veggies and love some fruits. I am a meat and potatoes gal in general but can also get down with a good pasta dish. I am the least adventurous of our group in terms of trying something new.
DH is Matt, dad, husband and likes to have input into the vacations and will help if I want/need it. He is 42 and is a carnivore! He loves meat, meat and more meat but will eat veggies and fruits. He will eat pasta but only if there isnt a better meat dish available. He will try just about anything once but is not a big fan of spices and will NOT eat onions or peppers but loves him some garlic!
DS is Alex, son and 13. He is a bottomless pit that will graze all day long if allowed. Being autistic, he has some definite no-nos. He is not a big sauce fan and if he gets it, will get it on the side. He doesnt use many condiments at all. He loves to eat food. His favorite is shrimp then a close second has to be calamari. He isnt a big fan of veggies and likes even fewer fruits due to their texture. He loves all kinds of meats and side dishes that arent veggies or fruit.
DD is Paige, daughter and 10 (newly). She considers herself a burgeoning foodie. She will try just about anything once except fish. She had a bad one once and wont go back for even a different kind. She loves seafood, steak, chicken and pork. She will pay for some good potatoes and will eat some veggies. She loves her some good fruit and yogurt. She will get down with some good pasta as well. And she would put pepper on almost anything you set in front of her.
Where and When: Where did we go and when?
We went to Disney World of course!!! We stayed in Art of Animation, in a Finding Nemo family suite. We stayed from 8/23- 8/31 in a split stay in the same room and same resort. From 8/25 on we had free dining. We had the Deluxe dining plan the entire time. There will be a plethora of food pics during this dining review. A few pics of our resort and suite may make there way into this as well, but mostly food, and trust me, we ate and ate and ate some more.
Why: Why did we do this trip?
Well, its a Disney trip, duh! Oh but we really were celebrating somethings. First we were celebrating our 18th wedding anniversary and our DDs 10th birthday (now she is happily on the adult menus).
Now that all the initial questions are out of the way, let us get onto the where did we eat. That is coming up in my next post! Hope you follow along and enjoy.
