Wheelchair question....

Hi all

I hope you don't mind me posting this question here, as my son's problem is not a "disability" persea.

Anyhow, my 10 year old has badly re-sprained his ankle (he's a gymnast and this is an ongoing problem for him). Right now he is just staying off it as much as possible, icing it and elevating it. No crutches.

We'll be in Disneyland for 2 days next week, and I'm concerned about him spending all day on it. If need be, can we rent a wheelchair from the park....and my main question is will we need some sort of a note from his Dr if we decide to do so?

Thanks in advance!

Lauren, come over to the FAQ page, you will find information there. :) Just click on the link in my signature.

You will not need a doctor's note to get a wheelchair. If you have a park hopper, you will be able to get another chair at the second park of the day without additional charge. I hope he is feeling all better by then!

Thanks Teri....!

The link was quite helpful :-) and it's good to know if the need to use a wheelchair is still there next week that my son will be able to use one. I hate the idea of him spending 10-12 hours on his feet if his ankle is still swollen & hurting. What IS it about timing?!?

Hi Lauren! Better now than at his next gymnastic meet, right?

If DL is as good as DW, I think you will be very pleased at the good time everyone will have. I hope you don't run into any difficulties!

I posted a link to the DisneyLand disability info on the other place you posted this. I just wanted to welcome you here and let you know that anyone who needs some extra assistance to experience WDW (permanent or temporary) is welcome here. i
