Not much to distract me really; I'm trying to think. I was a nauseatingly attentive student, and from 1st grade to 12th, my sister and I had to do our homework at the kitchen table out of sight of the TV in the living room. There was no such thing as cell phones or home computers.

Star Trek. Classic 60s Star Trek. Used to do my high school algebra and geometry while watching. Not a great strategy.

Unless it was History, I always found that subject interesting and thus, not really "work".

A lot of things, especially music or TV being played in another room.
My best studying was done late at night after everyone went to bed, or I would go to the large county library and sit at a table on the second floor in the corner that was away from everything. I know I have some ADD, but back in the 80s & 90s that was not an acknowledged thing. Still today I can’t read, pay bills or do anything that requires concentration unless I have quiet.
