What sounds do you commonly hear coming from outside your home?

Dogs barking in the neighborhood. I live in an neighborhood where the side street all run parallel. So our backyards back up to each other. Most all the houses have fenced back yards, so all the dogs are barking at noises they hear but can't see.

Pretty much just leaf blowers when the gardeners are around and garbage trucks once a week. We live in a townhouse at the end of a private street. We can drive up to our garage, but we don't have cars driving by. We have an end unit, and we can look down off our side patio into a huge lawn area. There's a walking path next to our patio, but it's blocked by shrubs and we can only hear people talking as they walk by if the door is open. Come to think of it, this is the quietest place we have ever lived. We love it!

In this area, you can always here a lawn mower between the hours of 8 am and 8 pm, year round. Most people, in this area, hire lawn companies to mow their yards. There is always a company mowing in the area.

tractors, the gator, crop dusters, red necks in jacked up trucks, foxes, herons, eagles, chickens, boat motors, bullfrogs, the dogs thundering around the porch, and sadly once in a while the ambulances and state police helicopter because it it lands on the other side of our woods in a field.

At the moment, cicadas. 😊
Other times:
*Yard work sounds
*Cars
*We live fairly close to small airport so we see/hear small planes taking off and landing
Occasionally we see/hear large military helicopters (often in a group) flying low to the ground during training exercises.
*October-December we hear an old time train whistle in the distance as they do Halloween/Christmas themed train rides.
*Boom of fireworks on college football game days (stadium is a few miles away)

dogs, cats, kids playing, either gun fire or fire crackers, I cant distinguish, and plains, trains and automobiles , also Helicoptors, the path to land on top of the hospitol flies right over my hous when they are decending, that happen much more often then you would think

Mostly the train - we're located at the exact distance from the intersection when they have to blow the whistle
The only other annoying noise is when the neighbor uses his punching bag in the back yard, but he doesn't last too long

The most noticeable things from inside the house are trains, birds, dogs and lawn equipment (most hire landscapers who use those big noisy mowers and blowers). But the windows being shut does cut out a lot of it, except for birds right outside the windows, an adjacent yard’s lawn being cut, and a train when something is on tv that you really want to hear!
