What is something you have never done, and people are shocked when you mention it?

Sorta kinda a bit along your lines my husband is 6 ft 5.5 inches and people ask all the time if he played basketball and when he says no they get this o_O look on their face. Not every tall or really tall guy plays basketball lol.
Off topic, on the other hand my husband got his letter in high school in basketball. He was 4'11" at the time.

I enjoy fishing but I’ve never gone ice-fishing. I don’t care how thick the ice is, there’s no way you’re getting me out in the middle of a frozen lake.

I'll never forget when I was younger, probably mid-teens, and we visited family up in Minnesota during the winter time. They took us ice fishing, and initially I was like "What the heck?" but there was a whole city out on the lake. They had electricity, and heat, and television, and even bathrooms and there were what seemed like hundreds of cars and these little houses all over the place. I still didn't enjoy it, but for this Texas girl it was an eye opening experience that I enjoyed telling all my friends about when I got home.

I've never been on a cruise... which stinks because I love to gamble and eat and drink way too much. I have an inner ear disorder, so cruises are out for me. I guess I will have to have my fun on land.

There are a lot of iconic TV shows/movies I've never seen. I'm just not a TV watcher, and while we see a lot of movies in theatres, I have little interest in watching at home so things like Godfather and Rocky that are before my time, I've never seen.

I've never been to Las Vegas and never plan on it. I don't gamble so it just doesn't appeal to me.

DH's boss goes to Las Vegas a few times a year. He doesn't gamble either but he loves it there. I don't understand the appeal myself but I actually think quite a few people go to Vegas and never set food in the casinos.

I have never voted. I don’t feel it’s my place. My husband is the head of our household and yes we talk about it somewhat, but he is the only voter.

A lot of this stuff isn't all that shocking but I can't believe a grown adult hasn't eaten a vegetable or apparently even knows what one is. My 1 year old shouldn't have tried more vegetables than any adult...apparently at just about every meal.

I can't think of anything shocking I haven't done that I would have been expected to.

And I've never buried treasure in St. Louie or St. Paul
And I've never been to Tampa
And I've never been to Boston in the fall

Full disclosure: I've been to Tampa. I've been to St. Louis although I've never buried treasure there. And I've been to Boston, but I think it was in the summer both times.

I've got to say that most of these are not shocking. We all have movies we've never seen or have no desire to (I hate gangster movies or horror movies myself), foods we've never tried (I won't eat sushi or most spicy foods, have no desire to ever eat eel or octopus) and places we have no desire to go to.

But I will admit to being shocked by the person who won't vote, and the adult who has never eaten a vegetable.

I'm sorry, I just can't let the voting thing pass ... but I'm not going to take a political side. I maintain that the general subject of suffrage is not a discussion of politics, but of civic duty.

I really do not get the idea that exercising one's legitimate right of suffrage can be in any way getting "above one's place" in the United States. Never in the history of the US as a nation has it ever been the case that only heads of households were entitled to suffrage. There have been many "voter tests" enacted here over the years (almost all of which have now thankfully been done away with), but that was never truly one of them. Even before Blacks and women got the vote, more than one adult white male in a household usually meant more than one voter in a household.

If you are an adult American citizen who is eligible to vote, then it is ALWAYS your "place" -- and indeed, your privilege -- to exercise that fundamental right.

I never dated...never had a boyfriend.
I want that romantic story where two people meet etc. Not "I met him online."
I don't believe in true love any more. It's not real in my book. Always had problems with "Friends" who dump me. But that's the way it is in my life. :( Sad, but true.
True...and sad.

The sea is a giant toilet for billions upon billions of animals and a toxic waste and garbage dump for humans.

No thanks...
Curious, do you ever drink anything that contains water, or is cooked in water or has touched water? If so, it's to late, the toilet came to you. :-)
Ive never been pulled over by the RCMP nor have I ever even gotten a parking ticket. I’ve been a licensed driver for 24 years.
I've done a lot of things in my life, almost none of them to excess (smoking and eating maybe) No hard drugs, but, pot might have been close by at times. I have been drunk on occasion, but, not a drunkard. It was only under certain circumstances. As far as driving is concerned, I get the same "shocked" reaction from people when I tell them that I got my drivers licence on my 16th birthday and have driven constantly since then, even for a living, and have never been in an accident, not even someone else's fault. That would be 54 years. The get a secondary shock when I say it because they are afraid that I just jinxed myself by saying it out loud. I'm not superstitious so I don't really feel any fear about it. I mentioned it to my Grandson just recently and when I said 54 years. His immediate reply was that he was going to make it 55 years. I said that was a great goal to aim for. He got his licence 4 weeks ago... wanna guess what happened? Let's just say he was a long way away from 54 years.
I have never seen a real snowfall. Just a few flurries or maybe an inch or the ground that melted in a few hours. And then only saw that like maybe 5 times ever & I’m 39.
I spent 63 years in it and I can say with authority that you "ain't missed a damn thing". My last 7 years in NC, have been heavenly.:beach:
