What happens if we book dining with an on-site reservation but then have to switch to an off-site hotel?

We are currently booked on site and we're very successful getting all of the reservations we wanted for our 10-day trip. Problem is our airline has changed our flights. And it's adding about $800 to our trip and we're missing out on a DVC booking. Plus now we have to pay for a hotel at the beginning of our trip so all in all it's costing us quite a bit of change.

What would happen to our dining reservations if we canceled our hotel at Disney and switched to off-site? Would we lose them? We are currently past the time we would have been able to book from off-site anyway. Since we have a room only booking we can cancel 5 days in advance at Disney. Has anyone gone through this?

Once they're booked, Disney doesn't touch dining reservations and doesn't care where you're staying. Cancel away, the ADRs don't move.

In fact, if you cancel a whole package trip, you have to remember to cancel each dining reservation individually to avoid the $10pp no show fee.
