July 21 - Part 1: Magic Kingdom / Disney Springs
I didn’t quite make it to rope drop today. I slept in and got to the park around 9:30. The parking situation was good and there were no issues with security. My ferry ride to Magic Kingdom was mostly empty and it was very relaxing.
I went straight to Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and waited about 15 minutes. Space Mountain was about 10 minutes. I was able to knock out Fantasyland and Tomorrowland pretty quickly. I started to get hot, so I decided to tap out.
Mask compliance seemed to be pretty good. Not as good as Epcot, but still people respected the rules.
As I was ready to leave, I see the Princesses off to the distance. It was really cool to see them again. It’s just hard for me to fully comprehend that I’m back in the Magic Kingdom. I only spent a few hours there, but it was still really cool.
I started getting hungry so I was debating with myself as to if I wanted to return to my resort or go to Disney Springs. I ended up going to Disney Springs, which was definitely a mistake. As soon as I got in, mask compliance was a little spotty and mask enforcement was non-existent. I saw someone without their mask right in front of a Disney Cop, who said absolutely nothing.
I should have trusted my gut and just left, but I was hungry and wanted Chicken Guy. Chicken Guy’s set-up is bad. They had one sanitizer station when you went inside and nothing else. When it started to rain, it got crowded really quick, even though I had a table. I left and went outside to eat my tenders in the rain. They were good, but I won’t be back. I should have left, but I wanted to go to World of Disney. When it was spotty there, I promptly left.
Disney World has been awesome. Disney Springs might have well been on a totally different planet. If you’re going to Disney World, do not go to Disney Springs and especially not Chicken Guy. The tenders are good, but
