Visiting Resorts

Hi,

We are staying on-site from November 28th to December 10th. I am wondering whether you can to to another resort without an ADR or Resort Reservation. I was on a chat with a cast member today and they told me that you could not enter a resort by any means, if you didn't have an ADR or Resort Reservation. I understand that trying to drive in to a resort without a reservation seems to mostly be a no-go now. But are they also not allowing you to board the boat to another resort or use the Skyliner or Monorail? Are they checking your reservation status when you get off?

Thanks for your help!

Ikaikalani is right. We're local with annual passes and often park at and enter a Theme Park, ride a few rides, then hop on Disney transportation to a resort hotel and eat at the QS restaurant there or look in the resort shops. In the last few months we've parked at MK and monorailed to Contemporary or Grand Floridian, parked at Epcot, walked out the International Gateway and to Boardwalk or Yacht and Beach, or taken Skyliner to Riviera. No one ever asked us where we were headed or tried to prevent us from using Disney transport, and once we were in the hotel we were able to use Mobile Order even if not staying there.

We just got back and visited other resorts without an ADR. We did have a quick service meal at two of the 5 resorts we visited. Took monorail to GF and Polynesian. Bus to SSR and walked to BWV & the Yatch Club.

Just got back, and our experience mirrors others' here. Stayed at AKL, visited Contemporary, Pop, and Riviera without issue.

We arrived today. We visited Grand Floridian, Polly, Beach Club and Board Walk. We ate dinner at one and snacks at a couple others. We did a little shopping too. Used Disney transportation for all travel.

As others have said, the CM had it wrong. Think about it and it doesn't even make sense. When you board any Disney transportation nobody asks you for any proof of where you're staying or have reservations for. You simply board and go where it takes you, no issues.

Driving is a separate matter and is mostly about the parking capacity at the resorts so they need to ensure only guests or ADRs are coming in that way.

Anyone can use Disney transportation so it stands to reason you can get to any resort if you like, no need for ADR. Just hop on a bus, monorail, boat or skyliner and enjoy keeping in mind that there is not much resort to resort transportation especially by bus so be sure to allow ample time.

Driving is a different story depending on the resort, in addition to those looking to avoid the parking fees by parking at the Monorail or Epcot area resorts they are now seeing an abundance of ride share drop offs due to the trams not returning after covid.

Disney does not want the resorts to become parking lots or drop off areas for the parks so they are tightening restrictions. For a while you could not even make an ADR or Mobile order at CR unless you were a registered guest.
