Visiting a resort?

We have friends that will be staying at the Beach Club next week. If we have their name and room number will we be able to park our car at the resort to visit them? We might get a drink or ice cream but no swimming or park visiting. TIA :)

In my experience, security at the front gates of on-site resorts is always hit-or-miss.

Edit: Seems that if your name is on an ADR you should be fine.

The guards have to let you park there if you have a resort reservation or dining reservation, as that is Disney policy. You might get lucky and have guards who aren't sticklers for the rules, but don't count on it.

As others have said, it will likely vary depending on the guard at the gate and also crowd-levels. Having the name and room number of a current guest should help but is not foolproof. For example on Sat/Sun, a lot of people are unfortunately trying to "game the system" and park at an EPCOT resort and enter through the International Gateway to visit F&W. I know you're not doing that ... just saying there are a lot of people who try to get away with it and are basically the embodiment of why we can't have nice things. Valet parking at the resort is always an option ($33 plus tip).

Agree there are probably times guards aren't as fussy. But BC/YC and CR are the 2 that seem to be the most vigilant just about all the time. They are both prime locations for parks, and they also have limited parking for their own guests.

Thanks for the responses. That is what I thought, just needed to double check. :sunny:
You know, when we respond or read responses to questions, often it's NO NO NO! In reality, your friends cannot park at BC, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be relaxing and fun to meet up with them for a drink and ice cream at the beautiful BC resort. I hope you can work things out to at least get them there! Enjoy.

Uh, gate guards don't "have to" let you park anywhere, and quite frequently don't. Lots of stories of people learning this the hard way at Boardwalk, CR and Poly.

The only way you'll get in to park at BC is if you're actually named on their reservation, or if you have a dining reservation. You could pay to park at HS, then take the Skyliner/Friendship or walk to BC for as long as you'd like. They just won't let you in to park at BC.

except they may have to pay to park at HS if they are not staying onsite. You can park free at Disney Springs and take a bus to BC

Our DS came to visit us at BC. The guard called to ensure we were expecting him, they let him park and eat with us.

In the past they have not checked much at the swan and dolphin. You could maybe park there and walk over.

Swan and Dolphin don't check because they charge $25 (or more, can't remember) to park there. If you have a dining reservation, the TS restaurants will comp your parking, but for visiting someone at BC it's not very practical!
