I'm curious if anyone has done a VIP tour now that SWGE is free-for-all? We have a tour booked for October and am curious how the guides are handling SWGE.

We did a tour last week. Currently, there is no FP for Smugglers. Guides go to a booth and get a return time for the ride. You are free to do other things until the return time, then the escort you up the future FP lane. When our return time was available, our guide went to secure another return time. Within 3-3.5 hours, we had rode Smugglers 4 times and also did BTMRR 2x, Matterhorn (both sides) and several other FL rides. Then we moved on to NOS and Adventureland.

Thank you! I'm even more excited now!

We just got back from California and did a tour a few days ago. It was great - we got so much done and toured for about 8 hours. Our experience was similar to Malcon10t - our guide went and got a reservation time while we were on a ride. We did a few more things then headed over to Galaxy's Edge and rode Smugglers Run, going through the future FP Lane. He then got us a time to come back again later for another ride. We only rode twice, but our guide also showed us around Galaxy's Edge and provided some back story and insight into the different characters that were walking around and told us how excited he was for Rise of the Resistance. We had a fun encounter with a couple of Storm Troopers and a rebel spy. We were able to do everything we wanted during our tour and rode some of our favorites multiple times in both Disneyland and California Adventure. I will say that having done tours now in Disneyland & Disney World, we found that we enjoyed our tour in WDW much better, could be the difference in guides more so than the parks, though. But overall I loved Disneyland much more than I thought I would, it was definitely a much more relaxed experience that WDW. Also, as of now, if you want to do the Cantina or the Light Saber experience in Galaxy's edge, you have to book those reservations on your own. Have fun!
