Hi,

Not sure what clothes I'll need to take with me for our week in Vegas.

I'd be grateful for any help.

Do people get dressed up to go to the shows?
Is there a dress code in the Casino's? are trainers and jeans allowed?
Should I take just casual clothes? or do I need some more dressy things?

Thanks in advance.

On our trips to Vegas (during August each time) I have worn shorts and t-shirt or vest top during the day, or a sun dress. At night I would change into either a different dress or trousers and short sleeved top. People don't really dress up to go to the casinos, I would take smart casual, what ever you are comfortuble in. As for shows, I tend to dress up a little for the theatre, however many other people watching the shows had not (we did see people wearing jeans). We stayed at the Venetian which was quite up scale but felt comfrtuble in what we wore.
Our next trip we are planning on eating at some of the higher end restaurants so I will be taking dressy clothes for that.

hello!
We stayed at the Bellagio and we did feel very out of place just comming back from the grand cayon in our walking gear!

We went in July (so it was REALLY hot) so i just wore shorts and a tee-shirt around.

At night when going to see shows or eat out, i did put on a nice skirt and top and my dad wore decent pair of trousers and shirt. But not everyone did.

Its mostly wearing what you feel is comfortable

Anything goes in Vegas, you will see evening gowns to shorts & tee's, I wouldn't pack anything special, unless you like to dress up. I have never worn anything more dressy than jeans and had no trouble anywhere.

I agree with this--almost. None of the gaming floors have a dress code. I *think* a couple shows might. I know there are quite a few nicer restaurants that require a jacket for men and appropriate evening attire for women. I was with a business group a few years back, we went to eat someplace and the guy with us didn't have a jacket. The restaurant "let him borrow" one. It was very clear that we weren't getting in until he put the jacket on.

Hi,

I'm back from my trip now and had the most amazing time. Thanks for all the tips on what to wear. Anything goes in Vegas and it seemed very casual to us during the week but at the weekend a lot of people were really dressed up, it didn't make me feel underdressed though... there was such a mixture, even saw a few brides gambling in their wedding dresses, some people had clothes on that looked like they'd slept in them.

The clothes I took with me were fine but next time I will take a few more dressy things as it felt nice to dress up in the evenings, it made it feel just that little bit more special, and made me feel lucky too !!! very important to feel lucky in Vegas.
