Vegas Girls-only Trip

Did someone say HOT CABANA BOYS????

Vicki that is too bad that you can't come. But I bet your cruise will be great! We will miss you!

Cheryl~ Not IF you are coming, it's while you are there you would LIKE to go to a nice dinner!

It's starting to look more and more like I wont be going. :sad2:
Aww, come one. Don't say that now. This is still several months away. Way too early to say something like that!

Beth - you'll have to take me off of the interested list because Bob's dad just booked the Alaska cruise and guess what...:confused3we leave the weekend of the Vegas trip.

If I hear of any great hotel deals through my company I'll let you know. We have almost all of the hotels in Vegas.
Well, shoot. We are going to miss you! But hey, an Alaskan cruise is amazing!!! I'm sooooo jealous!

hey gals! I've been lurking along and it sounds like the planning is going great! IF I go I am also up for a nice dinner. I may be gambling while you all are cabana-ing though. The last couple of trips I didn't get enough of my gamble on. and I may be bringing Mom.

later gators!
I'd love to see your mom again!

Good Morning everyone

Just popping in to see what's going on ;).

Vicki~ Sorry you won't be going :sad2:. But the cruise sounds great :cloud9:.

Please also add me to the list for a nice meal. I haven't been to many snazzy restaurants since Laila was born, so it will be a nice treat. But I'm on the fence as to whether I should join the cabana group or gamble with Cheryl :confused3. They both sound like fun ;).

So I really want to do this trip, but after looking things over, the reality is I have to either not go to Vegas or not go to WDW. I haven't been with my current job that long (it will only be a year in June) and I'd hate to ask for 3 separate vacations in a year.

But I definitely leaning more towards Vegas since we are going to WDW in March 2012 anyways & you can never have too much adult only time :cloud9:.

I think there will be a lot of interest in a nice meal. And there are SO many nice restaurants to choose from. As for deciding between the cabana and gambling.....why pick?? Do both! Spend two hours or so down at the cabana with a cool drink in hand, and take a couple dips in the pool. Then dry off and join Cheryl in the casino for another hour or so. Best of both worlds. You shouldn't have to pick and choose in Vegas, do it ALL!!

Yes! Lean more towards Vegas. You know you wanna! And like you said, you've already got WDW plans for 2012. Fun, adult only, girly time rocks! :woohoo: ;)

of course, in July not sure that I'll be doing the Baileys and coffee like last time (unless they can do it iced!)

In July, it will definitely need to be iced! :thumbsup2

Speaking of iced, this place looks like fun and I've always wanted to go here! Maybe we can go as a big group this time. It would be fun to get a pic of us all bundled up in our furry artic gear. Someone has to drink my vodka for me though.....

Well being cold is not my cup of tea, but July would be a good time to try it and I'm usually up for a new experience (except jumping off the stratosphere).

I bought a bottle of Kahula peppermint mocha the other day. I've been enjoying spiked hot chocolate to warm me up when it's cold at night.

Mmmm, that sounds yummo!!

I'm bored. I want to go to Vegas right now :upsidedow

That Minus 5 sounds kind of fun (and chilly). Might be nice in July, huh??? Maybe the spa at Caesar's too - they have that Snow Room that was fun. It was pretty reasonable for the day pass there (all the pools and different rooms). Or a different spa maybe??? I think I'm feeling the need for a pampering type of trip in the day and some fun night time activities :woohoo:

That sounds so tasty, Marcie - yummo!

Cheryl - please come - and bring Doris! I'll drive. Or I guess I should fess up, Bree will drive. I don't like to drive.;)

It's hard to imagine now what 110 degrees will be like in July. But everything is enjoyable with cabana boys, a cool pool, iced cocktails, a little gambling and some awesome girlfriends. :grouphug:

I'm not a fan of freezing temps either, but those ice sculptures look so cool! And I think it would be a neat photo op. :)

Sounds very festive. LOL!

Ahhhh, spa time. Pampered in the day, and party at night.

I agree!! :thumbsup2

I agree, Cheryl bring Doris! She's a lot of fun. :goodvibes
::yes::
Cheryl, you and your mom both need to be there.

The Venetian would be nice!! Or the Palazzo. Same layout, connected to the Venetian. I don't think that even a good deal will be considered "cheap", if you know what I mean. You won't find it for 50 bucks a night like some places in other words. But since the room is nice and big, you could fit more people in there and that would help with the cost without it feeling too packed. :thumbsup2

I personally like MGM, and Planet Hollywood as mid-priced hotels. Just from my own experience. Also Golden Nugget is great. We stayed there three times this past summer and during the week, we got rooms for $35! The property is really nice and the pool is fun. Problem is, it's location, being downtown, sucks! When we stayed there we didn't leave the hotel so it was no biggie, but for sightseeing and such, it's pretty far.

Mirage and Treasure Island would be nice, but they seem to be so pricey and while I've never stayed in a room there, I'm not sure they are worth it. :confused3

Lots of choices and options, that's for sure! :thumbsup2

Not to hijack....but I am looking at the Golden for a spring break mother daughter trip.....any tips?

Hi, feel free to hijack away! :)

Well, I'm not sure what tips you are looking for, but I can tell you about our experience there. All the staff was helpful, check in was quick. The hotel itself is really nice.

I was there with my husband and four kids (ages at the time were 10, 10, 13 and 15). They loved it. Beds were comfy. We ate breakfast at the buffet and it was good. Not spectacular, but good, and we had two for one coupons in a book they gave us at check-in. No food court area, which I missed, but there is a McDonalds on Fremont. It's nice to be able to walk outside the door and see the Fremont experience/show.

The pool area was so fun. The kids loved the water slide. It does get BUSY in summer, not sure how it will be during spring break. I'd advise getting there early. Lots of families when we were there. The only thing I didn't like is the cabanas are on the second floor, above the pool, which makes no sense to me. So if you are looking into renting a cabana, keep that in mind. But the shark tank is sooooo cool. Really something to see in person.

If you plan to do a lot on the Strip, and don't have a car, the taxi fees will add up quickly. We are local so of course we had our car with us which made it much easier.

I've actually stayed there twice with family in a basic room, and once with just my husband in an upgraded room. Both were nice. Tripadvisor has some great travelers photos on there of the different rooms and the pool. During the week, we payed $35 which is so cheap. Great deals to be found.

If you have any specific questions, please let me know! If I can help, I'll be happy to do so. :)

I've never met Cheryl's mom, but I'm sure she's a lot of fun :woohoo:

Works for me :upsidedow

Another fun thing might be the Sugar Factory restaurant at Paris. Hopefully we'll get a chance to check it out if it's open in time for when I come in February for my b-day! I can't wait..... It's been so long since I went anywhere, with having to cancel my Nov Disneyland trip. I'm going stir crazy around my boys and I'm looking forward to some girlie time :cheer2:

Good info, sounds like this might be our plan, we have done M&D trips 4 times to the strip, so I think we would spend 3 nights and focus on downtown. I would splurge on a cabana.....and the zip line ! And lots of good meals of course!

any good downtown shows for the under 21 crowd?

I know I've heard of some, but since I'm not a fan of downtown in general, the only one I've actually seen is the one at the Golden Nugget which is Gordie Brown. He was funny and I'd recommend that one.

The cabana, and zip line will be fun! And don't forget to go to Mermaids casino and get a deep friend Twinkie and/or Oreo. :thumbsup2
