I do not know how to add pictures into Dis....so please follow along via my blog!
In early September 2014, we surprised our daughter with a trip to WDW for her 5th birthday! I loved the planning process and found the trip reports on DISBoards to be very helpful! I thought that I would share our adventure with you! Enjoy!
Who we are: We are family of four that lives in Columbia, SC. We have two little girls - Annie (age 1) and Lily (age 5). We decided to just travel with Lily this time but will be planning a trip with both girls in the future when Annie is older. I work in advertising at ABC and Chris is an auctioneer and we own our own auction house in downtown Columbia. Chris and I have not been to the Magic Kingdom since we were little children. This trip was special for all of us!
We had a five day park pass and did lots of special events – Hoop Dee Doo Revue, Bippity Boppity boutique, breakfast at the castle, the Frozen Premium Package, Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, the Villians’ Sinister Soiree, and the Perfectly Princess Tea Party! We traveled during the Free Dining Period and I upgraded to Deluxe Dining. For about $400, I highly recommend this option during free dining! This may not be practical for a family traveling with toddlers (as it may be too many sit-down meals) but for us…it was wonderful! We love to try different restaurants and I did not think it was too much food! We enjoyed the dining as much as the rides!
Our Fast Passes worked like a charm and we rarely waited more than 10-15 minutes for any ride! The weekend after Labor Day was a great time to go. It rained more than I would have liked but it was still fine and I would travel at this same time again.
It was a great trip! I highly recommend a little careful pre-planning. However some of the most fun parts of our vacation were the ones we least expected. And pixie dust was EVERYWHERE!
