Total resort points?

Have looked so if someone has a thread to point me to please do.

When a resort is fully declared it has say 1 million points. Now if they sold 30% FW then there is more than 1 million points in play, since there is a 10% premium on those. How does that work? Or as most with FW they dont have 30% sold, is there then points floating out there?

Disney takes it as profit on their end by essentially getting them to use. Flip side some contracts are actually now being paid by Disney because point distribution changed in favor of the members.

Could be wrong but thats how I understood it.

From what I remember, those extra points are built in to the total..they are not extra.

However, when the fixed week is used, it most likely creates extra points in the system that get used by DVC

But, when it’s canceled, the owner gets them which is why they are part of the total points sold.
