Top of the World Lounge

Thanks .. I was hoping you would not have to prove that you are staying on property. When I have staying in Vero I was going to come up to WDW and spend the day not in the parks. I had hoped to go there and see the fireworks. So I guess they check where you are staying from your band and make sure you are DVC.

Thats awsome! Do I need to make a reservation or just show up early to get in.

Just bring your DVC membership card with you and you'll be good to go.

I'm new to DVC too! I went in August, and my group arrived about 45 minutes before HEA. We were able to sit at one of the high-top tables...and there were plenty of other tables and couches open. I personally like to get there early to share some apps and drinks with my family before the show starts. Also, they'll put a little sign on your table if you want to go out on the balcony and watch the fireworks, so that no one takes your spot.

Thank you for sharing this info!

I thought this might be helpful for you:

From Disney Vacation Club's website...

"Disney Vacation Club Members staying at any Disney-owned-and-operated hotel at Walt Disney World Resort (whether they booked with Vacation Points or cash) may enjoy access one of the vacation kingdom's most exclusive spaces: Top of the World Lounge atop Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort through December 29, 2018."

Block out dates are July 3rd/4th and December 30th/31st due to the amazement of the fireworks show. Those are the only nights it is reserved for DVC members staying at BLT.

Anyone know if they have officially extended it until 2019? I am going on Jan 2019 and plan to go to TOTWL.

TOTWL is paid for by the BLT owners, that is why all owners and resale buyers are invited to attend. Disney has no reason to close it down.

Do you have to be staying on-site? We have owned DVC for many years but never managed to get to the lounge. This next trip it is just my husband and I, but we are staying off-site. Am I out of luck or will I be able to go up if I show my DVC card? I don't want to get all the way there and then turned down.

Yes you need to be staying at any dvc property . I am at Vero next week and it counts.

TOTWL has become a lot more popular in the past couple years. I would be there 1 hour before, especially if you want to sit at bar or table and to order a drink or appetizer. Nowadays, it gets pretty crowded up there as the word has gotten out. If you are going for fireworks only, no problem, 30 mins should be fine

On nights that are not blocked out, you can be staying at any Disney owned & operated resort (not just DVC) at WDW or VB on either points or cash.

On blocked out nights (7/3, 7/4, 12/30 & 12/31), you must be using your membership to stay at BLT to have access the TOTWL.

For most nights, 30 minutes prior to the start time should be plenty. The capacity is 499, so they will rarely turn people away on non-blockout dates.

Keep in mind that you probably won't be able to see the castle projections for HEA because of the distance.
I was able to see projections last night!
