Tip For Getting To Atlantis

I keep reading about the cheapest way to get to Atlantis with the price being quoted at $4 to $5 per person for a taxi plus the toll--both times we have been--4/02 and 1/03 (just back) we have gone out the main area where the taxis are and rather than riding in one of the big taxi vans and waiting while the driver tries to fill it up we have taken a limo for the same price. The first time there were 4 of us and we went over for $20 plus toll of $1, driver gave us his card with his number on it and when we were ready to leave we called from guest relations in the casino and he was back to pick us up in 15 minutes; last week there were 9 of us and the limo ride was $4/per person. It doesn't hurt to ask/negotiate with the limo driver and for our kids it was the first time in a limo. DS says this is one of his best memories of the trip.

I have never said it was the cheapest - just easier than the official excursion and the scary water launch. And you can wander Atlantis at your own pace, instead of what I have read of being in sort of a rush on the guided tours.

I will however, append your info on limos being available to my cut 'n paste guide as another more pleasant way over.

My personal opinion is still you can get over yourself, save some money over the official excursion, and you can take as much time as you want doing it. That makes it fun.

Crissup and I took a land taxi both ways last July. Those water taxis looked VERY scary to me and I also like the idea that the land taxi brings you to the front door of Atlantis. The water taxi requires a long walk from the dock..

we took land taxi van both ways for $4.00 pp...driver did not require us to pay toll ...
