Ticket question non-hopper tickets

We are going to be at Disney for 6 days. Is it possible to buy 7 day non-hopper tickets and use (2) to visit different parks on the same day?

For example, swipe one time in the morning for Epcot and another in the evening for MK using 2 of my 7 days on the same day?

Thanks!

No, sorry. The ticketing system will not allow it. This is probably the most frequently-asked ticket question by far, see the Ticket sticky at the top of the page for more info.

Your ticket is good for park "days" not "entries" so when you go to Epcot that morning, you've chosen to use your "day" at Epcot.

You can't go to another park unless you have a hopper or a completely separate ticket.

That's correct. And perhaps not the second most asked question, but close, is whether you can upgrade a multi-day ticket to a park hopper for one day. The answer to that is also no; you pay the same whether you upgrade a ticket to a park hopper on the first day you use it or the last day...so, if you're going to upgrade it, you might as well do it at the beginning of your trip.

nope not possible.
disney knows this would be a cheap way to still park hop and so they've put provisions in place for the computers to not allow it.

But using that same info, if you're not 100% sure if you're going to park hop, wait until you're actually going to hop before upgrading.

You could use two separate ticket cards to visit the two theme parks respectively on the same day.

For example if you were going to the Not So Scary Halloween Party you would have a separate ticket card for that and, if you entered after 4 PM, you would not need any other ticket and could well have come from a different park where you used a "regular" ticket.

Not sure if both tickets could be put on the same Magic Band but usually that causes more confusion that it is worth even if it could be done.

If your ticket was rejected at the entrance gate for want of the hopping feature, and the ticket had not undergone usage more than 13 days ago, you could go to a ticket booth, add the hopping feature (a one time treatment), and then enter the park.

Alternatively you could return to the theme park you were at earlier in the day and re-enter with no additional ticket treatment.

Water park fun works the same way with or without the hopping feature. You do not need the hopping feature to visit more than one minor park or to visit both minor park(s) and one theme park during a given day.

True. But if you're going to do that, you're likely the same type of person who wants to get the best value out of what they are buying. And that would mean purchasing PH early on in the trip. It's probably best to plan ahead of time whether or not you want to use PH so you can truly make the most of them. In this day of FP+, it can be hard to hop on the fly anyhow.
