If Kate did actually die in the flashforward timeline (and Rebecca outlived her!), it would be a heart-wrenching twist-of-fate, wouldn't it?
It seems like if Kate had died, Toby might still be wearing his wedding ring. ?
For what it's worth Chrissy Metz is on Fallon right now and she is still morbidly obese.
But it probably wouldn't be that shocking to have someone her size die at a much younger age than her average sized parent. And I don't see how that's something that's never been done before. If Kate did actually die in the flashforward timeline (and Rebecca outlived her!), it would be a heart-wrenching twist-of-fate, wouldn't it?

Not sure what it would be though since she appears to be the same in public appearances right now. Unless they have her wearing padding when she's out in public now. Probably best to look for a new theory.

My other thought was that they hired another actress to play thin Kate. They are so good at finding actors that match their counterparts that I think they could pull it off.
There was talk in season one that is was part of her contract to lose weight, that later turned out to not be true.I thought that a few seasons ago, that was supposed to be the storyline and Kate was supposed to lose weight as part of the show; however, the actress was unable to do that so they changed directions. I have no idea where I read that!
Maybe her saying it's something that's never been done, isn't actually true LOL. Maybe whatever it is, has been done, and she just hasn't seen the show where they did it.
Woke up thinking about this episode, had a moment when I thought it might be the end of the series! It wrapped things up neatly, at least the things that have happened. Glad to hear it isn't.
The whole Randall, Beth, and kids storyline was perfection. Including Kevin. I do get a bit confused with locations in this show, they sure hop across the country quickly. I would think that if Kevin could afford that house he's working in LA as a major star. Either that or The Manny has some great residuals.
Had to chuckle that Beth had a moment of clarity that teaching barre classes to housewives is not her dream. So she's going to start a ballet school in Philly, probably with some underserved students, just like her Mom! (Fame, anyone?)

From what I've read (broke my own rule again!) the day they ended this season with (visiting Rebecca in the future) is also the day that will end the series. We shall see!
I believe it. They said they were filming for the finale already as well as scenes from the final season.
