My first post ever! The Queen of Hearts kidnapped my daughter, pirates forced her to join their crew, she was peppy at a rally, did the hula at the luau and went to a dance party with her favorite characters of all time! I HAVE DETAILS!!!!
I am giddy and coming down from the most magical trip of my life and just had to share. After a year of secret planning, saving our pennies, online research, buying every official and unofficial guide to Disney and (my favorite) checking out the disboards, we finally made it to WDW on November 30 for a 6 day trip. My dh, 37 was making his first trip, as was my dd, 7, Disney fanatic, was also making her first trip. This was big. Huge. My husband and I had very high expectations and they were all surpassed. Here is the short list of the little magical things:
* We arrived at the Magic Kingdom on our first day and made a straight shot to visit Pirates of the Caribbean (another passion of my daughter's). Our daughter ended up meeting Captain Jack Sparrow and Mack, got called into service and joined the pirate crew - was handed a certificate to verify her protection under the Captain. Life was great. No line, life was fab.
* Venture around the MK and dd received riding lessons (on her horse) from Woody and the Roundup gang. This place is amazing.
* Day 2 - dd joins the High School Musical Pep Rally (she is performing HSM in her musical theater class this year) and learns some new dance moves. Life cannot get any better.
* DD is awarded a Magic Moment certificate for correctly answering some Princess trivia
* DD is given a free replacement pin by Augustine in MGM after she lost one of her trading pins.
* DD answers pirate trivia correctly and receives a Magic Moment certificate and a selection of booty from a treasure box (she chose a purple gemstone).
* DD is center stage at the luau for a performance
* DD received a pair of Tinkerbell Pixie dust pins (one to have and one to share)
* DH is handed a stack of fast passes after thanking a CM for the time of his life (dh LOVED DISNEY)
Those are the little things. But the Queens of Hearts kidnapped my daughter and brought her to a dance party. We were at the Christmas Party on Monday night (12/4) and it was simply amazing. My daughter was dressed up as Cinderella (complete with lighted tiara), met many of the princesses, and was enjoying her life. That was when we saw the Queen of Hearts riding in a teacup and decided to wait on line. DH felt a little dizzy the other time we rode the cups, so he sat out. But I taunted the Queen, raised my fist at her and dd and I made faces. Well, when her ride ended she marched over to us and was her usual charmful self. After I offered a curtsey she escorted my daughter and I into the pink teacup WITH HER! Alice was in the cup next to ours. It was amazing! We spun around with the Queen, as she instructed us to spin the center wheel with our pinkies up, she pretended to vomit over the side of the cup and it was a hoot! The ride ended and we told her that we were from NYC - from Queens! Well, she pointed to my daughter's crown and then took her away! She marched around the teacup ride while holding my daughter's hand, paraded with Alice, posed for a quick photo with the entire fam, and then paraded our daughter into Cosmic Ray's. If that were not enough, in Cosmic Ray's was dd favorite characters of all time - Lilo and Stitch. DD and Lilo told each other secrets, mocked the Queen of hearts and danced together for about 10 magical minutes. It was utterly amazing and I do not believe that any of us will ever forget it. I don't know how to post pictures - tell me how...I am happy to share!
