*Before I start this post, I probably should mention that I vlogged this trip and I have already uploaded the video from our first day! Here is the link if you would like to see it!*

Hakuna Matata- What A Wonderful Phrase
We finally let the Cars section after our extensive photoshoot and headed over to The Lion King section!
    Good 'ol Pride Rock
    [IMG]
We attempted to get a Hakuna Matata picture but it was hard to get anything to show up because there was barley any light:confused3
    [IMG]
Then we headed to The Little Mermaid Part!
Prince Eric has always been one of my top favorite Princes but after this trip I'm pretty sure he's #1:love:
Here's me trying to look cool like him... not sure how well it turned out
    [IMG]
We went on around the section looking at everything else they had. This is random but we decided to take a picture of our magic bands all together because mine and Marilyn's stickers kept peeling off so we wanted a picture before they got ruined.
After this, we decided we were basically done at AoA and headed back toward the lobby so we could get an Uber to the Outlets.
Our Uber came so quick (probably 5 minutes or less?) and we drove to the outlets, we just went to the ones that were closest to Disney property. We went into the Disney Character Warehouse and shopped for 30-45 minutes or so. None of us were on the lookout for anything in particular and didn't have much room in our suitcases anyway.

I will say, I thought they had better stuff in the store when Rachel and I visited in January. There was a lot of things from Star Wars at Sea which I liked looking at but I thought the prices were still a little expensive. I just ended up with some postcards that I could send to my friends! I thought they looked super cool!
After we all made our purchases, we were pretty tired and decided it was time to go back to the room. We called another Uber driver and after Rachel talked on the phone with her for a couple minutes, we finally found each other. She was super nice and talkative and had us back at Sports in no time!

Once we got there, we decided we should take pictures with the backdrop and props that they had in the lobby!
I think this is a super cute idea! They had all the buttons and even a cardboard trophy to go along with the Sports theme!
After we were happy with the pictures we got, we went back to our room and got ready for bed- we had a big day ahead of us!

Hi guys! Sorry for my disappearance, finals are in full swing here for me which I'm sure most of you understand but I was editing the vlog for the second day of our trip and remembered that it was about time I gave you guys another update!

Meeting Mickey for the VERY First Time!!

I should preface this with explaining that Rachel, Flynn, and Momma Hart went one way while Marilyn and I went another. We met up for parts of the trips but then we would go off and do our own things. But no fear, Rachel took plenty of pictures of their adventures so I will include those so you can see what they got up to- I know all of you will be dying to see what Flynn got up to ;)

We all woke up nice and early on our first Disney day and got ready to go! Rachel and her mom left first and headed to EPCOT because they had breakfast reservations at Garden Grill!

Marilyn and I left soon after! I always see this adorable star wall that is on the main-building at All Star Sports so I wanted to get outfit pictures before we went to Hollywood Studios!
Marilyn was wearing a Cinderella-inspired outfit
    [IMG]
    I was Sleeping Beauty, obvi
    [IMG]
Then we hopped on a bus and headed to Studios! There was quite a line waiting for HS so we ended up having to stand on the bus but we didn't mind because we were in HS in no time!
We got there about 20 minutes before park opening, and got through bag check. I forgot that Disney had started doing random metal detector screenings since I had last been, but honestly I have more piece of mind because they have started doing this.
    Meanwhile in EPCOT...

Turns out Flynn wasn't the biggest fan of fur characters but they definitely still got some cute pictures :lovestruc

They let Marilyn and I through the gates around 8:45, we originally thought we would go to Rockin Roller Coaster but there was a huge group of people who were being held at the beginning of Sunset Boulevard which lead me to believe that there was no way we could get on Rockin' Rollercoaster anytime soon so we veered left to go meet some characters but then after I thought about it some more, I decided we should go back to Rockin Roller Coaster. So we headed back over there just as the park officially opened. I realized the mass of people were probably waiting to go to ToT or TSMM or a bunch of other rides in that direction so there was literally no wait for RnR! We were on the ride in less than 5 minutes, Marilyn really liked it! It was also a great wake up call for me, it got my adrenaline pumping :scared1:

It was such a perfect day, the sun was shining, the weather was warm and we were in Disney. It was a GREAT DAY!! :cheer2:

Next up, it was time for Marilyn to do something very important- meet Mickey and Minnie! SO, Marilyn never came to Disney when she was a kid because people in costumes just really freaked her out. They're still not her favorite still but as long as she knows that she is seeing them and they don't try to sneak up behind her, she is fine. So it was only right that the very first characters she meets were Mickey and Minnie!

Again, there was NO wait. Literally there were like 2 families in line in front of us, getting there at park opening seriously pays off. First off was Minnie Mouse, and she just looked SO FABBB
    [IMG]
We talked about how Minnie and I matched and she was so excited to be the very first character Marilyn has ever met!
    UGH she's just my faveee:bitelip:

Next up was Mickey, he came out from backstage which kind of gave Marilyn a little scare but she composed herself and we had a lovely time with Mickey too, he gave LOTS of hugs and kisses

Oh, I feel you there! I've got one tomorrow morning, and one Wednesday. Ew. But we're almost there!!

    Oh my gosh...

    Ahhh! You're killing me, Hollye!

Yay! What a great way to wake up in the morning!

Awesome! Rope drop is totally the way to go. I hate waiting in lines. Glad Marilyn could handle this and she got to have her first character meets :)

I WILL BE THE REBEL SPY

The second blog of our Disney trip is finally edited and uploaded if you would like to see!

Let's see, we left off just after meeting Mickey and Minnie for the first time. We were SO impressed for all that we had gotten done in just and hour when I got a text from my close friend Katherine who had just arrived to HS! If you have been a loooong time reader with me, you will remember Katherine from my "THIS IS THE WILDERNESS" TR! She is on the DCP FA 2017 working as a lifeguard at the Boardwalk so I was very excited to see her! We ran to each other on Sunset Blvd. and embraced screaming and jumping up and down-- it was magical. :cutie:

Our very first order of business was hopping on Tower of Terror! We were all catching up with each other so the line felt like it went by so fast.
I wasn't sure how much info to give to Marilyn about this ride, I wanted to give her some background on the theme of the ride but I still wanted her to be surprised:confused3
I think we did pretty good job setting her up, and I swear this was the BEST ride sequence I've ever been on-- it felt like it went on FOREVER and it was so fun! Actually, half way through the ride, I felt something slap into my lap and looked down and I was holding someone's ball cap. Once we made it safely back on the ground I held it up and asked if it belonged to anybody and it turns out it belonged to the guy in the very back of the vehicle! Marilyn also loved it, she was a little iffy about it at first but she was glad she did it!
Meanwhile... after eating breakfast, Rachel, Momma Hart and Flynn got on Living With The Land.
    Flynn enjoyed himself!
They also headed into the World Showcase to meet some characters!
    First was Mary Poppins
    [IMG]
It looks like Flynn is sharing some juicy secrets :rotfl:
    Next was Alice- HOW CUTEEEE
    [IMG]
Back to HS, we decided to go see Muppet Vision 3D because Marilyn just NEEDED to experience it:banana: On our way, we ran into some of the Citizens of Hollywood who were out and about and they were cracking us UP. There was a little crowd bounced around these to ladies and they kept just making talk to each other but they would subtly make fun of the people watching them. When they saw Marilyn and I in our Chacos they started talking to each other how they just could not believe that people had started wearing their shower shoes back in public, LOL
    [IMG]
Before we actually made it to muppet vision, we stopped at the bathroom. I wanted outside and was soaking in some sun and was looking at all of the construction happening-- I just can't wait to see how HS is going to grow in the next few years!
Also for anyone who doesn't know here is Katherine!
Okay, then we finally watched Muppet Vision! I loved it as always, my only complaint was that when they drop bubbles down from the ceiling, we just got sprayed with soapy water!

We were running out of time in HS because we only had a 1/2 day there, I wasn't sure if we were going to make Star Tours but I really wanted to do it so we ran and jumped in the 30 minute stand-by line and hoped it would go quicker. Thankfully it did!
It was a super fun sequence but I felt bad for Marilyn because it did make her a little motion sick, thankfully it didn't stick around for long. Once again, I was not the Rebel Spy. ONE DAY IT WILL HAPPEN

After that, Marilyn and I had TSMM fast passes but Katherine wasn't able to get any so she decided to go grab some lunch while Merl and I ran over there and did that! With our fast passes, we were on the ride in 5 minutes! I was SO excited to ride this again but my little popper on the vehicle didn't work  you could not aim it, I was so gutted!

It's okay though, Marilyn still had a good time and really liked the ride!

At this point, out time at HS was running out, but we had literally 3 minutes between getting off the ride and making it to the Frozen show (which was something that Marilyn really wanted to do). We were determined to make it there and Katherine was waiting for us so we started running that way.

Of course at this exact moment, all of the Star Wars characters and their entourage were walking on the stage and we had to wait for them to pass. To make the situation even more stressful, Marilyn was not a fan of the stormtroopers, Chewy, or Kylo Ren. Thankfully, they didn't come over and mess with us but just marched right on up to the stage and we were on out way!

    Saying Goodbye!
Hello readers! I hope you guys had a great holiday, I certainly have. I've been spending it with my family in Southern Florida which has been a little torturous being so close to Disney and not getting to actually visit but sometimes you need a vacation where you actually relax

I've had some questions about the Free Dining deal that we got on this trip so I thought I would explain it a little bit more here for anyone curious. Nearly every Fall Disney runs a Free Dining Offer where if you stay at certain Disney Resorts and buy room/ticket package, you can receive a free dining plan. Depending on the tier of hotel you stay at (Value, Moderate, Deluxe) you will receive a different dining plan (quick service, table service, deluxe) for free. However, you can upgrade your free plan by just paying the difference in the cost of the plans. So, even though we stayed at a value resort we upgraded to the table service plan for only $21 a day per person. This is a HUGE savings because normally the table service dining plan is $69.35. We considered just staying at a moderate resort instead of paying an extra $20 a night but it was still so much cheaper to stay at a Value resort vs a Moderate. Generally, it is hard to book at Disney Resort as soon as they put out the Free dining dates (usually around April/May). Additionally, it is hard to actually book the dates if you have to work around school and things because they always black out the dates during fall break/Thanksgiving break/Christmas break. Luckily, we are all college students with flexible schedules so we usually can swing it. If you can book a trip for free dining, I would HIGHLY recommend it because the savings it just insane.

We barely made it into the theater to see Frozen before its showtime. I was surprised because there were a bunch of seats open, honestly I wasn't too excited to see this show because I felt like it wasn't going to be something I would like but it was SO GOOD. It's one of those shows that you know will be quoted forever bc it was so funny!

We had the best time sining along and when the foam-snow falls at the end of the show, it looked so cool! I would 100% recommend that show even if you think you're not the biggest Frozen fan. I wish I had some pictures to show you but I focused mostly on getting video of it for my vlog so you will have to go watch it to see what it looks like.

Once we left the show, we knew it was time to head out of the park but we had to get a picture with the Christmas tree, obviously.

I was sad to have to leave DHS so soon and even sadder to say goodbye to Katherine but we were very hungry so we were happy to leave to MK to go to our lunch reservation! While leaving the park, a CM really liked my Nap Queen shirt (a common theme throughout the day lol) and so he gave me a Daisy Duck sticker. Then he gave stickers to Marilyn and Katherine so they wouldn't feel left out.
Then we officially said goodbye to Katherine and then attempted to find the bus to MK... But then we got distracted by a good photo opportunity :rotfl:
I got confused on how to get to the busses because of all the construction fences up so we accidentally started walking down the path that leads to EPCOT before we realized what we were doing. Thankfully, we turned around and actually found the busses.

When we sat down there was a family there with a little boy and the mom complemented us on our skirts, it turns out that they were going to MK too so we got on the bus together. Marilyn and I both babysit and love kids a lot so we had fun playing with the little boy who kept hitting us with pretend spiderman powers and jedi powers. He was adorbs:love:

We also took time of the bus to creep on Rachel, Flynn, and Momma Hart on the MDE app to see all of their photopass pictures

Let's see what they were getting up to:
Flynn HAD to get his basic bubblegum wall pic
    [IMG]
"Leave-it" is hard but leaving Mickey Waffles?! That takes talent
    [IMG]
If you were curious, Disney does have designated pet-relief areas for service dogs!
Aww look at all these cuties!

They actually switched it up so now Moderates only get the QSDP too with Free Dining! So you'd still get stuck with the extra $20 plus more expensive resort.

    FEELIN THE DISNEY MAGIC
Marilyn and I finally made it to Magic Kingdom and got through security and the gates and walked over to Tony's Town Square Restaurant for our lunch reservations! We wanted to eat here for 2 reasons:
    1. Both of us love Italian and neither of us had been to this restaurant
    2. I knew we had a pretty good chance of seeing Festival of Fantasy from the restaurant since it went right by there!

I made our reservations for 2:00 because I knew that the parade starts at the back of MK and ends at Main Street so even if it took a while for us to be seated, we would still see the parade. I had meant to request a seat near the windows at the front of the restaurant when we checked in but I totally forgot so we kinda just crossed our fingers. When the CM called our name for us to get seated, he saw Marilyn's birthday button and got so excited! She told him how this was her first trip and she was celebrating her birthday. He got so hype and said he had the perfect seats for us to see the parade, then he lead us outside to to tables on the patio where we had a UNOBSTRUCTED VIEW OF MAIN STREET. :scared1:

    DISNEY MAGIC, PEOPLE

Even though we were starting to get hangry, we were SO HAPPY about our seats! They couldn't have been any better!
We were sat up against the widows of the from of the restaurant but we got lucky that there wasn't another table against the rail in front of us!
After we finished admiring the view, we took a look at the menu- everything looked so good!
Our waitress came out and took our drink order, I went with the pomegranate lemonade and Marilyn went with just plain water. The lemonade was SO good! It was really hard not to drink it all and fill up on it before our food came.
Something else that was really hard not to fill up on was THE BREAD. I was addicted, it was really soft focaccia bread with some flavored olive oil. It is some of the best I have ever had
We could start to hear the parade music just as our food was set down on our table. We both decided to go the the Chicken Parmesan! I think that is what Rachel recommended we get because it was so good. It definitely was photogenic :lovestruc
    [IMG]
I'm not sure if it tasted so good because we were watching the best parade or because were super hungry but we both thought it was AMAZING! My only regret was that I didn't get to eat all of it!

We finished watching the parade while we waited for our dessert menu, of course I freaked out when I saw Prince Phillip
We were both so full but we did want to try the dessert so I went with the tiramisu and Marilyn got the cannolis.
Oh my gosh, that cake was SO GOOD. I can't even describe what it was like but all I know is that I want more of it:sad: Marilyn liked her dessert too, I tried a bite but I didn't like them as much. I thought the filling wasn't sweet enough but I have a massive sweet tooth:laughing:.

While we were waiting for our check, Rachel, her mom and Flynn joined up with us! I'm not really sure if this was allowed but they just stepped though the chain and joined us at our table- they even helped us finish out desserts lol!

We settled our checks and stepped back out onto Main Street! 10/10 for Tony's, I can't wait to go back!!! Marilyn also really liked her meal!

We had to go to guest drives to get some details taken care of for Rachel's DAS but first, I wanted to send out my post cards that I had bought the night before! This has always been something that I have wanted to do, it is so cool that you can actually send mail from the parks!
I had some trouble getting the postcards to fit in the box :rotfl:
Then we walked over to City Hall!
I was happy to be reunited with my furry nephew, he was ready for a nap and the day was barely half over, poor guy! Thankfully, we gave him plenty of nap opportunity later that day.
We got Rachel's DAS all set up and were ready to begin our adventure in Magic Kingdom!

Yeah, Disney is being super stingy with all the discounts these days! Even room-only discounts at moderates/deluxes were only available for higher categories of rooms (pool view vs standard view). In my March trip I actually went with an Undercover Tourist deal that was pretty good ($300 for AKL) and in December I'm renting DVC points, which I'm really looking forward to (coming out to approx $250/night for AKL/BWV/WL).

    So nice!

Agreed! This show is deceptively good! The historians are so funny and really make the show for me. :)

    Aww Flynn! So #Disneybasic

AMAZING! This is what it's all about, making magical moments for people!

    Wow, your view was awesome!!

For some reason, I believe this about you! It just seems to fit!

Oh, we were talking about this the other day and realized we didn't know, so I figured you'd be the person to ask: what do they do with service animals when you go on rides? Are there rides that they can ride with you? Do they wait for you somewhere? Etc.
