Have a Great Day everyone!! :teeth:

Good morning! I'm up early to go into work for a while. It's amazing how quickly my body/mind got used to sleeping a little later, because I am SOOOO sleepy right now. Oh well!

Talked to my brother last night--the biggest, most important (scary) test Blythe had wasn't supposed to come back until tomorrow. The doctors & nurses, though, knew how scared my brother & SIL were, so they called and called until they got the results yesterday, and everything is GREAT!! Thank you for all of the prayers and pixie dust!! She has some other testing this week and next, but it's a major relief to all of us that the one yesterday came back great!

Here's my list for today:

1. Up
2. Caffeinate
3. Contact cake person about DS's bday cake--yes, it's for August, but I'm a planner!

4. Get ready for work
5. DS's stuff together
6. DS up
7. DS to mom's

8. Work til 11--I'm leaving at 11, whether they're done or not. ;)
9. Come home
10. DS lunch

11. Clean bathrooms
12. Run dishwasher
13. Maybe go swimming??
14. Watch DVR'd show
15. Address July 4th cards
16. Go to sleep sort of early!!

I hope everyone has an amazing day!! Enjoy it!

Pixie Dust for Blythe.

Hugs for Christy, Holly, & Rhonda.

Enjoy your day off Deb!
Enjoy your vacation Lisa!

Not sure what the day will bring. It is only the boys second day home and I made them go out yesterday. They may want to just hang home today.

Morning.

Deb how many more days!
Great news for Blythe!
Ann did the washer and dryer get moved and hooked back up?
Pam- thinking about you!
Christy how's my friends mouth? Is he ok?

Well it's our 2nd to last day of school. Only today and tomorrow!
Hard to believe that my boyfriend will be a 3rd grader at the end of this week!! How'd that happen?

So.....
Work
bubba school
hospital run
dinner
finish teacher gifts
iron out for last day of school
bed
make sure camera is ready for last day pictures!!!
Take pics in the same place as 1st day so I can scrap first/last day of seco d grade.

Have a good day everyone!!!

Love, hugs, pixie dust for all that need it!

Pixie dust for Blythe! I'm so happy to hear how well that little sweetie is doing.

 for all who need one!

PBF, I think it's horrible how the school system has treated your DS. I hope you find the perfect fit for him for next year.

We still have no a/c!!:scared1: 90+ weather and no a/c don't mix well!!! The earliest the repairman can get here is tomorrow afternoon.

Oh, and I found a good little deal at Walmart yesterday. They had a bunch of scrappy stuff on clearance and I found Zig glue pens for $1. They had the chisel tip and the pen tip one.

My day:
Love on kitties - they are still being really clingy and need extra attention
Clean
Bills
Get haircut
Find things to do in places with a/c -maybe shopping
Scrap
Dinner - grilled cheese & soup - gotta make things that won't heat up the house even more.

Have a great day everyone!

 Little Bit is a 3rd grader too now.

The washer and dryer will get moved tonight, but will not be hooked back up until the floor is finished. Concrete board laid down, tile laid down, grout applied and dried, baseboards put back. Two weeks minimum, knowing my DH. I am not looking forward to bringing in the concrete board from the garage. That stuff is heavy!

Wonder how hard it is to rinse out clothes you wash by hand? Maybe time to get that outside hanging cloths rack I wanted.

It's hard to love on kitties in 90+ degree weather with no A/C! I hope they get it fixed right away for you Stephanie!

2nd to last day, Holly! Wow, I know what you mean, I can't believe I have a 5th grader now!

YAY for Blythe, YAY for days off of work, YAY for just hanging out!

I am taking 14 ten year old girls here. Thankfully, not on my own! We have several other moms and family members coming. We're taking Morgan's friend Kate, and then Morgan is spending the night there! DH and I may have a "date" (dinner at either McDonald's or Burger King, an episode of True Blood, and then asleep by 8:30 what an exciting life I lead!!).

I woke up without a headache or toothache (I've got to stop clenching during the day!), so I'm in a great mood!

I hope everyone has a terrific Tuesday!

It's hard to love on kitties in 90+ degree weather with no A/C!

That's why it's first on my list! It's not bad in here right now and the kitties want to be petted. By lunchtime they do not want to be touched and are spread out on the tile in the kitchen!!:goodvibes

My baby is now a senior!!!!!!:scared1: How did that happen?:confused3

Jenn, have fun on your outing with all the girls!!!!

AWM, good luck on the laundry!

Jennifer- can I come???? Bubba would love that place!!

And a 5th grader!! :)

and Stephanie a SENIOR!!!!:scared1:

Ann- i bet bubba and Alex would be great friends!

Is Nan off on her trip today??? Have fun if you are!! Safe travels!

Holly- Since I took tomorrow as a vaca day, I have 18 dayshifts left!! :cool1:

Brooke- That's terrific news about little Blythe! What a blessing!

DIT- Yikes!! I hope you can find a place to keep cool today. It's brutal around here! Here, think cool thoughts
chillout.gif

AWM- Did you lay in some packs of new underwear? :rotfl: That would be my plan...that and some fabreeze :rotfl2:

OK, my DH has changed his mind about his Father's Day giftie...we were going to get him a new sports jacket today... So, my plans have changed for tonight. Maybe make Chicken Cordon Bleu. Who's having that? Recipe please?

Oh, I have some recipes to post too  totally forgot...

I was asked to post this recipe...

French Toast Casserole

Has a similar flavor to Monkey Bread, but more eggy, and less work...

Ingredients
1 (1 pound) loaf French bread, it might not all fit, so have something Italian for dinner, and make garlic bread (that's what I did :teeth:)
8 eggs
1 1/2 cups 2% milk
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 tsp corn syrup
Chopped Walnuts (optional)
Raisins (optional)

Directions
1. Butter a 9x13 inch baking dish. Cut up bread into chunks and arrange in the bottom. In a large bowl, beat together eggs, milk, cream, vanilla and cinnamon ( I whurr it up in my blender). Pour over bread slices, cover, and refrigerate overnight.
2. The next morning, preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Sprinkle top of casserole with the walnuts or the raisins, or both, or neither. In a small saucepan, combine butter, brown sugar and corn syrup; heat until bubbling. Pour over bread and egg mixture.
3. Bake in preheated oven, uncovered, for 40 minutes.
4. Be prepared for a sugar rush! It's yumm-o!

I think the other recipe I was asked for was Poor Man's Lasagna. It's just a name we call my lazy way lasagna. I use penne, bow tie, or rigatoni as the pasta, not lasagna noodles, which I find labor intensive. Pasta is cooked till just done...not mushy. I brown the ground beef or ground turkey in a large pot, then mix in traditional Ragu sauce and add some extra garlic. It's usually a pretty thick mixture. I make ricotta a little sweet by adding a couple spoonfuls of sugar...mix mix mix till dissolved.

Then it's just layer 1/2 pasta, cover with 1/2 meat/sauce mixture, all ricotta mixture, rest of pasta, rest of meat, top with mozzarella in a sprayed 9x13 glass baking dish.

2 pots and a bowl to clean up... easy peasy... garlic bread and a salad and I'm done...

Just reading along...

And Jennifer, what's funny is that dd11's Girl Scout troop is going to the Danvers Co Co Keys today! :) They are all so excited! Oh, and I drove by the Michael's yesterday and they have been working right along but it will be a while before it opens - maybe before summer ends? Haven't seen a projected opening date yet.

I got rear-ended yesterday by a 19 year old kid who wasn't paying attention when he was driving (yes, he admitted that to me and the police officer) so today I am off to the appraisor - I am thankful that dd & I are ok and the car is drivable as it could have been much worse....

I have a similar recipe. I use extra wide egg noodles usually and before I pour the Ragu over the hamburger meat, I add a can of cheddar cheese soup to the meat.

SOunds like everyone has a lot going on today. PD for Blythe and  to those who need them. It's going to be hot and muggy here today. DIT - hope your a/c gets fixed ASAP. Can't imagine how hot it will be. Lots to do today. Stitching at my house today so cleaning up quickly, I don't have to take the neighbor to gym today - just pickup, but it is Little Mister's 14th birthday. I can't believe my baby is 14:eek:

take DS14 to diving
get fruit for stitching
vaccum main floor

get breakfast out and ready for guests
put umbrella out incase we go outside

bank
e-mail about Catechist cert.
take DS14 to store to spend his b-day money
dinner - tacos for DS

Have a great day everyone and stay cool :hippie:

Jill - that stinks! Hope you're all ok from the crash and that the car can be repaired easily.

Thinking cool thoughts for DIT!
Thinking good wishes and "Atta girl" for Blythe!
Thinking "get yourself to Fredericks of Hollywood for new undies" for AWM
Thinking hugs for Holly, Christy, Lisa, and Linda
Thinking Poor Man's Lasagna sounds marvelous!

Last day of school - noon release! Took DS over on the public transportation bus this am - for the LAST time! Took photos of him at/in the elementary school - will match these last day of 5th grade up with ones from the day he first visited the kindergarten there... Trying VERY HARD to be upbeat and cheerful for him so that he will walk out of there excited and motivated for whatever comes next. Hey, I saved a lot on teacher gifts this year - I simply couldn't bring myself to buy/make anything for any of these folks, except his adored aide who has been with him for years. He did write each teacher, therapist/specialist, secretary, administrator, and lunch lady a lovely short note saying "thanks and have a great summer" and has been delivering them over the past few days. Some notes he added a bit more to and they all were quite touching. (Frankly, more than a lot of these folks deserve, IMHO.)

Today: will clean up around here, try to get a few more containers planted with impatiens, and scrap a bit. Probably need a nap after being up all night and steaming about yesterday... DD bringing oodles of friends over to celebrate summer vacation starting this afternoon. "Date night" with DH tonight - should be a nice break. And I have a feeling there will be more Monopoly in my immediate future...

Today is clean day.... final load of towels in the laundry by 1pm...drying and folded by 2pm...

load the car at 3pm...
drive to airport...
enjoy fla weather by 8:30pm
