Just seeing if this works. I am preparing to submit a trip report!

Well, that clearly didn't work. If a Mod sees this post and would like to delete it please feel free while I try to figure out how to post photos from facebook.

Did you paste the link with the IMG header and footer?

Bama ED

PS - I use photobucket (others have used flickr) so I don't know about facebook but I see no reason why it wouldn't work. Does anybody else use FB to post pictures from?

Bama ED, thanks for helping. I don't see the link with the IMG header and footer. I know I'm doing something wrong but cannot figure out what it is.

mash,

there are two ways to accomplish this. both end up being the same.

In photobucket (I am showing a snapshot of the screen) note the "Share this Photo" box on the right hand side. The fourth box down is the IMG link (note it has the letters and brackets both at the beginning (that you can see) and they are also at the end.

So I can simplyl cut and paste this link from photobucket with IMG already in the link: [IMG]http://i947.photobucket.com/albums/ad311/bama_ed/Fort%20Wilderness%20March%202011/ex1.jpg

The other way to post the picture is to use the "Insert Image" icon when you are writing a new post (looks like a postcard with a stamp at the top right corner and mountains on the postcard). Click on that button and you can post a direct http:// link to your file name. Your link will start with "http://" and end with the file name "bamaed.jpg" for example It inserts an http:// so you may have to edit out any duplicates and end up with only one "http://". But when you click OK it will put a
at the end. That should work.

Try it and we'll see what happens next. :teacher:

PS - you can tell I really want to see your TR :woohoo:

BTW, here is the "edit" of my previous post it shows the IMG link usage. This is what you want to end up with however you get there.

Note the slash "/" used with the trailing IMG code and brackets.

looks like you might be trying to link to a page rather than a photo, the error above is what i get

Bama ED and Disney Campers, thanks much for your help. I will give the photo bucket a try. I'm not sure how much time I will have to work on it this week. I might not get back to it until this weekend.
