I could get then if NC Beast is home in the next 10 minutes....

I used to go to the movies when I was single and between school and work. There is a movie theater in MD that used to start the movies at 10 am with reduced prices.
NC BelleSure hope you can go!

Good news! Pam just called back....she strong-armed her husband into picking up their daughter from school....so now she can go again....HOORAY! What a morning! Still hope you can join us.....

That would be a good QOTD: Have you ever been to see a movie alone?

John Malkovich sexy. Noooooooo. Sorry Bichon I can't say that. But I do agree conair is great. I love Gary Sinese who's gonna do the new CSI tv show. I forgot to mention I loved Fargo especially Marge, she is a great charactor. Frances McDormand is one of my favorite actress. She stoll the show is Raising Arizona. Lord my spelling today is so bad.

"Diptep shot? You haven't gotten that baby his diptep shot?" LOL. We have Raising Arizona on DVD. One of my all time favorites.

I saw the previews for the new CSI. Definitely have to see it because of Gary Sinese. He was great in Forrest Gump.

CADBURYSMOM, I wish I lived nearby. I'd join ya! :hyper:

I wish ya did too  I love going to movies with friends!

And I LOVED Raising Arizona too.....too many favorite lines to pick just one....::yes::

QOTD: Yup, twice. I think the first time was Men in Black. The kids were driving me nuts on a rainy Saturday, so I left them in the hands of their father and went to the mall.

The second time was Titanic--'cause no one wanted to see that with me. :( But then a week later I dragged DH out to see it, and he liked it.

My big thing is eating alone in restaurants. I HATE IT. When I go with Rob on business trips, I sometimes have to eat by myself. It really makes me uncomfortable. Even if I go to the mall by myself and eat in the food court, I have to read those little cardboard advertisements they put on the tables.

"Now mind his lil fontanel."

"I loooooooove heeeeeeem."

"I think I got us the best one!"

"Oh I don't know! Jammies! They had little Yoda's on 'em and ****!"

I love to eat alone. I get a cheesy magazine and enjoy. Don't do it to much anymore. When I was a kid I used to tell my mom I was studying and I'd go to the movie by myself. Sometimes I'd go a dozen times to the same movie. Oh and I wonder why they want to diagnose DS with OCD. Where could he be getting that from!;)

cadburysmom--looks like no Brad Pitt for me today:( ....I just heard today about all the "special" shots of him. I guess that I should had planned ahead.

Bichon you kill me!! One of myu favorite lines is whe Holly Hunter closes the window on Nicholas Cage and says to him, now you go up thre and get me a baby, they already have more than they can handle!

Here are some more: (hope DH doesn't come home early, 'cause I haven't even gotten into the shower yet, and I'm supposed to have everything ready to go)

"So, why do you use the word 'trapped'?"--Prison Counselor
"Huh?"--Prisoner (Ruben Young)
"Why do you say you feel 'trapped' in a man's body?"--Prison Counselor
"Well, sometimes I get the menstrual cramps real hard."--Prisoner

"...But the doctor explained that her insides were a rocky place where my seed could find no purchase."--H.I., in voice-over

"You...busted out of jail?"--Ed
"No ma'am, uh...we released ourselves on our own recognizance."--Evelle (William Forsythe)
"What Evelle means to say is, we felt that the institution no longer had anything to offer us."--Gale (John Goodman)

Bichon Barb OMG you are too funny:rotfl:.... those are some of my favorite all time movie lines!

NC Belle So sorry you can't join us...maybe next time!::yes::

Gotta run if I don't want to miss the movie opening....I hear it's a hot one :p

Hope everyone has a GREAT afternoon!:wave2:

Bichon wherever you are going have fun. Have a great weekend everyone.

Hmm, let's see....I love Con-Air & yes, John Malkovich is HOT! But my favorite part of that movie is when Steve Bucsemi is singing "he's got the whole world in his hands" I LOVE HIM!!!!!!

Raising Arizona is one of the funniest movies of all time. When Josh was born DH kept saying "he's gotta get the diptep". Love it!!

Movies by myself???? I love going to the movies by myself. I think the first movie I saw by myself was "Schindler's List". I cried & cried & cried. One time DH was working really late & I saw 2 movies in a row by myself. Can you say "loser"???? Here's the best part, I was slighty embarrased, so after seeing "Inventing the Abbotts", I went out to the car & put on a pull-over (so the ticket-taker wouldn't recognize me  ) before going to see "Romy & Michelle's High School Reunion". Let me tell ya, I laughed my head off & when the lights came up I felt like such a dork.

Good afternoon everyone,
I've just got home from school and am shattered!! I think I might sit out on my swing seat in my back garden for a while and have a little snooze as the weather is so nice today.

was he the guy having the tea party with the little girl?? I love John Malkovich too. And I think he is sexy!! But Nicholas Cage is "da bomb" A lot of people thinks my dh looks like him. But one time he actually got stopped in the airport and was asked for his autograph-but not for Nic Cage. He was mistaken for Kevin Spacey. My dh didn't know who KS was until I showed him his pic. He was offended!!??????? I love KS. He is toooooo cute. My dh is a weirdo!! But I love him!! crazy in love

whew, all caught up. I thought it would be time to go get Kelley by the time I just finished reading!

Now if I could just remember what I wanted to say back to y'all...

Lewski709 and kadaten, great cakes! I made one for Chris' 4th b-day that was Oscar also. I put a wall of foil around it, with an upside down foil pie plate with a handle on top... voila' Oscar down in his trash can! I also have won a couple of gingerbread house contests (amateur division, of course) and some day if I find the pix, I'll post them. I know someone who worked a deal with a local shop that was only open for breakfast and lunch... she went in after they closed and used their commercial kitchen for her baking. Instead of paying for the use of the space, she provided them with x number of muffins, cakes, etc. to serve the next day. I have another friend who teamed up with an existing bakery to make a package where the person ordering the cake would also get a "themed" party box, full of props and games that were age appropriate and fun. For example, for a Batman party, she cut out Batman and Batwoman(?) masks out of fun foam, made little capes out of cheap shiny fabric, and had instructions for "Bat-tag" which was really just freeze tag where if they got frozen, they had to take their masks off until they were unfrozen again... and she had the plates, cups and napkins ... basically a party in a box. She had a list of standard party boxes (i.e. princess, pirate, mermaid, cowboy, etc.) and then for an extra fee would come up with specially requested themes like Wizard of Oz or whatever. You are so clever, I bet you could do it. Just a thought...

Bichon Barb - have a fun and safe camping trip. PD to the brake thingie and hope that Rob doesn't act too much like Pumba in close quarters like a tent!!! hee hee

I feel like I'm in a time warp trying to answer posts that are old and already forgotten in less than 12 hours time.

So I'm skipping ahead... if I missed any questions from anyone, ask again, or if I need to send PD to anyone, consider tons of it sent, with hugs attached!

You Brad Pitt lovers have fun at the movies today, wish I lived there too. I'd meet you in a heartbeat (preferably mine and Brad's beating together, actually.)

I rarely see movies so I am a boring lump in that line of comments... hmmm....

ROFLMAO! I read those cardboard things too at restaurants, Barb! I despise being alone in a restaurant ... even the food court... even if DH just goes to the restroom for a few minutes. If I am meeting someone at a restaurant, I am ALWAYS a little late, or if I do by some weird twist of fate get there first, I won't take a table until my eating buddy gets there. I also keep a pad of paper in my purse, so I can take it out and look like I'm intelligently making a list of something critica if I have to sit alone. A movie by myself? Ha, I tremble at the thought!

Danauk - I LOVE bacon sandwiches. Thanks! I skipped the 'shrooms, though. I am assuming shattered means tired, right? Shattered to us means more like broken into little sobbing pieces on the ground ... total devastated. I hope it's that you're very tired!!! Enjoy that nap and I'll talk to ya later!

I'm going to do my 2 mile walk over the dam and back. When I got on the scales this a.m., I'd lost 4.5 pounds since last week!! SHhhhhh... don't tell my body. If it knows what's happening, it will rebel and snarf down a whole package of double-stuffed oreos...

hope to check in later after the Rugrats get home.

:)
I just got the okay from the Disney rep to let my first batch of intro letters fly:wave2:

Yep, he had the tea party with the little girl. I LOVE Kevin Spacey. Has your DH seen "The Usual Suspects". Verbil Kent. Great movie. He shouldn't feel bad. My DH reminds llebrekniT of Mike Myers.

Did someone mention Nic Cage? Yup, got Moonstruck on DVD. DH's favorite line to imitate:

"I LOOOOOST MY HAND!!!!"

Other favorites?

"Do ya love him?"
"Yeah mom, I love him awful."
"Aw, that's too bad."

"Bella luna. Owwwwooooooooooo."

"It's Johnny Caaaaaam-mer-arrrrr-iiiiii."

"Well snap out of it (slap)!"

favorite Cage movie:

Gone in Sixty Seconds(DBF and I have a story that goes with it so it's special)

This packing thing is a pain, cause I can't remember what linens, etc. I left in the camper last fall. I guess I have to start from scratch and take frequent DIS breaks. :teeth:

Speaking of movies, is anyone going to see the new disaster movie that is coming out next week--the one about global warming?

I love those tacky disaster movies. Astroids, earthquakes, global warming...bring it on baby!!! (The movies--not the disasters. )

Rick, what's your take on The Poseidon Adventure, Earthquake, Airport 1977, 78, 79, 80, 81, 82, 83...Bwhaaaa! What was the one with Tia Leone? That was a good one. Sitting on the beach with dad when the giant tidal wave comes. :p And did you ever notice, there has to be some ridiculous romance side story in those movies. ::yes::

Life is good.

Tacky disaster movies AND nature run amok movies are some of my absolute favorites! And I have just about every one you can think of on DVD and video.

Did I tell you guys that my taste in movies... well... kinda sucks?

Lewski, sorry dear, Holly is, like, SEVEN! He's far too young for her. I would actually prefer him for Ella, would you like him to be put on the waiting list? :teeth:

And I was just going to say "when does it ever end?" You never cease to surprise me. Next thing, you'll be in here telling us your pregnant!

Lewski stop showing that puppy picture!<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_17_8.gif' border=0></a> It makes me want a bulldoggie R-E-A-L bad. Can he jump very high? We have a low fence in the back yard that our dogs can't get over. I'm serious, DH has been wanting another one and that puppy photo is doing me in.::yes::

Girlfriend, Grant is 5...Holly os 7. They are perfect for one another. Grant likes older women.

Tye and Ella would be good. Tye is almost 16mos and Ella 18mo's. ::yes::

These work well for us!

As far as Amos jumping, he can and about 4 ft......but he NEVER does. One time....that's about it. I recommend an English Bulldog, but if you aren't serious..........NEVER EVER go see them as puppies. IRRESISTABLE! Plan on spening around 1k though. Amos came from California (bakersfield?) and was 1500 including the <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/320v.gif' border=0></a> to us.
