when is the new stitch attraction scheduled to open?

we are planning a trip in 2/05 and would like to see it, but would rather see COP again even more! i've heard that COP will be open til stitch is done, so i'm kind of hoping that our trip will come before stitch opens or wdw will realize that COP needs to be opened regularly again!

The only word I've hear about opening dates is late 2004.

Mischief Abounds in Stitch's Great Escape!

The Academy Award-nominated film “Lilo & Stitch” inspires the new Magic Kingdom attraction Stitch’s Great Escape! scheduled to open in late 2004.

A “pre-quel” set shortly before the events of the hit Disney motion picture “Lilo & Stitch,” the family-friendly adventure in Tomorrowland will showcase the mayhem caused by the mischievous “Experiment 626” -- a.k.a. Stitch -- when first discovered in the Galactic Federation.

Entering Stitch’s Great Escape! Magic Kingdom guests are recruited by the Galactic Federation Grand Councilwoman to provide additional security for a captured alien whose reputation for being extremely “difficult” has preceded him. Even so, authorities underestimate Stitch’s capacity for playful disobedience, causing havoc to erupt with guests caught in the middle of the fun.

Stitch’s Great Escape! will feature some of the most sophisticated Audio-Animatronics® technology ever developed by Walt Disney Imagineering.

Stitch’s Great Escape! replaces The ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter, which will close later this month.


I think the offical opening date will be sometime in Oct 2004,soft opening probably starting in Aug..Historically Oct is the month WDW opens new attractions as that's the anniversary month of the opening of MK and the whole Disney Resort in Florida.

As far as CoP being open regularly I'm HOPING Disney is listening to it's guests as EVERYONE is thrilled that this classic is back up and running.If you like it let Disney know!!! They LISTEN!!!
