Star Wars Strategy?

Specific restrictions might not be needed, since FP for both attractions will likely be gone within 90 minutes.
A SWGE attraction FP might serve as a FP to enter the land.
Yes you may be right there.

hey will use MaxPass to restrict access. And only give out MP to either ROTR or MFSR (not both on same day) and only one MP per day to SWGE.
So what is ROTR and MFSR. I want to be sure the family will be able to get access when we go end of July.

If they have any brains at all, and I believe they do but am not as confident as I used to be (at least at DLR...WDW seems to be under good control) they will definitely restrict access to SWGE. They will form queues for SWGE outside the land - probably in the BTM Trail area. They will have one way in and two ways out. The ways out will be one way traffic only.

They will form lines for SWGE on Main Street in the morning (sort of like what they did for GOTG in HollywoodLand area). With ropes monitored by Cast Members, and many, many signs directing people where to go. Those folks will be let in slowly to BTM Trail area and queue there, and then into SWGE in small bits. All controlled with ropes and CMs and signs. :thumbsup2

I think your right on everything but the limitations on just one of the attraction in SWGE. It very well maybe impossible, due to crowds, to ride both in one day but I don't think Disney will be upfront and tell people. That would cause a lot of anger and give Disney a lot of bad press. It very well might be necessary but I just don't see them doing it. And I agree with your lack of faith in Disneyland management. The big dummies should have built SWGE in DCA.

Of course it is too early to know all the ins and outs. I won't be going there at least until December, and probably not until 2020, so I expect I'll benefit from everyone else's experiences and great advise.

But, in my mind castle...

I think my approach would be to go on a non Magic Morning, get to the gate an hour before opening and make sure I was first in line at a gate. Once allowed inside, purchase maxpass and grab a fast pass for the more popular attraction (determined based on fastpass "sellout" times and wait times on the app in the days prior), and queue up for entrance to Galaxy's Edge (I agree that they'll likely set up a queue at rope drop specifically for the land, possibly multiple queues, one for each ride and one for each fast pass kiosk, assuming they allow paper fastpasses for those attractions). At rope drop, proceed to Galaxy's Edge and ride the other attraction stand-by. By the time I'm done with that attraction, fast pass for the other should be active (return time should be early since I grabbed it immediately after entering the park). Use my fast pass and (if unrestricted) book another fast pass while in the fp queue.

After that, grab some blue milk and make my way through the crowds to check out all the cool stuff. The goal would be to leave Galaxy's Edge by 10am and not return until late in the night.

If I had access to a magic morning, I'd probably use that, but same basic strategy. This may be more fruitful since the earlier time provides some friction against the crowds (in line at 6am for 7am MM is just too early for some).

It'll be interesting to see how early the crowd control light wavers appear forcing you along a directional path. Fear would be that exiting one attraction, you find yourself pushed out of the land and have to re-enter in order to ride the other.

Time will tell if this is a feasible strategy.

Since rope drop runs in front of frontierland, I bet they will have a roped line that runs all the way back and under the train into SWGE. I'm thinking if you are there 1 hour before a magic morning rope drop, you might get on pretty quick.

I am thinking a special line that mazes back and forth in the west castle hub, north side, along the west curb, where you receive your wrist band, they hold the line back while folks go into frontierland, or maybe they will have signage that says BTMRR will open 30 mins after park opening so no reason to enter frontierland . They have to control the Peter Pan Running Behavior to SWGE, so the only way to do that, and eliminate cutting /holding places in line, is to have wrist bands. Then the line is escorted to SWGE entrance.

Find it hard to believe, that with Black Friday behavior, the long lines for the popcorn buckets, Peter Pan running....that it would all depend...... ON YOUR GOOD Behavior crowd control.
