May the 4th starts our plans. We have no idea what to expect at DHS. I'm assuming a t-shirt and anything else is bonus! DS will also get his first try at the Digital DAS.

May 14th is Galactic Gathering. We did Rebel Rendezvous last year, so we have an inkling of what to expect here.

May 15th is the 1st day of our 5 weekends of SWW!! So very excited for this.

May 22 is the 24 hour event. Not sure what we are doing because SWW takes precedence, but hope to get there at some point.

Frozen Summer Fun starts shortly after SWW and we loved it so much last year. I can't wait for FSF. The guys are more focused on SWW.

2016, seems like forever away, we booked one of the Star Wars Day at Sea Disney Cruises.

I haven't completely figured out the new boards, so please bear with me as I figure it out.

Who we are:

I've been on the DIS boards a long time. I love these boards and have made great with many DISers over the years. Huge fan of Disney, Star Wars, Dr. Who and carousel horses.

My husband is a huge, huge Star Wars fan. He shares my love for Disney, Star Wars, Dr. Who and ketchup and that's pretty much where our commonality ends. They say opposites attract and we are night and day. It's worked for nearly 24 years! New this year, dh is now a member of the 501st. He's new and trying to learn everything he can to get started. I'm so proud of him and the work he put into his costume. He won't get to wear it during SWW, but I'm sure in time he will get plenty of use out of it!

DS eat, breaths and sleeps Star Wars. Over the last few years, he discovered a new passion, he loves live theater. Loves all aspects of it. He takes theater and voice classes. And feels right at home on the stage. He got hooked on Frozen during FSF. He is homeschooled and also takes several classes in our community that are designed specifically for those with special needs.

Haven't been over here in awhile!! But will be looking forward to catching up with you guys. :)

Great start! Looking forward to following along - our stories are very similar. We will also be at the first SWW, and on the 4/16 sailing on the Fantasy next year - celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary a couple of months early. Couldn't miss the Star Wars at Sea!

Hey Michelle! Thanks for stopping by. It's been a long time! Are you coming back in October?

Hi! I look forward to all the fun!

Hi Michele! Thanks for stopping by. I know this is bittersweet as you had to change your plans. I appreciate you being here!

By any chance is your name Michelle(l)? Lol. Oh wow! Are you doing all 3 days at SWW? I think that's the same cruise @Missyrose is on? Congratulations on almost 25 years! I know, we couldn't miss it either. Booked the day it was announced. Good thing too, it's gone up so much in price. Our cabin is nearly $2000 more last time I looked.

Ha Ha - Nope. I'm a Leslie! DH is doing Galactic Gathering on 5/14, and we're only planning on SWW on the 15th. Two straight days at DHS is enough for me. I have horrible memories of the heat at SWW when we were last there in June 2013. Hoping it won't be as bad in May - but I know it's going to be super crowded, and I'll be ready to get out of there by dinnertime and get back to the Polynesian for a drink and some downtime on the 15th. Thanks for the congrats - 25 years is like the blink of an eye! Last time I checked, our stateroom category had gone up by about the same, but I think they're sold out now, someone said (Category T). First Western Caribbean, so it will be very exciting and new for us. Hooray for the extra sea day on the Star Wars cruises!

Michelle, we are going to drown our sorrows on a 6 night stay at the Disneyland Hotel in September.

Hi Leslie. Tell your husband to say hi if he sees us there. It's been unseasonably hot and humid the last few weeks. Hopefully, it will get a little cooler. Or at least less humid. Out by dinner time means you'll miss the fireworks. If you haven't ever seen the Star Wars fireworks, I strongly recommend staying to see them. They are phenomenal. My favorite on property.

We have done several Western Caribbean cruises. One on Norwegian and two on Disney. So this will be our 4th Western Caribbean. We've decided not to do any excursions, but make full use of the ship. We'll probably get off to wander around a couple hours or so. Not sure how ds will do with the tender to Grand Cayman. He doesn't do well getting on a "rope boat" at Jungle cruise. (A rope boat is secured by a rope to the dock so it doesn't rock like they typically do.) I'd love to get a cabana at Castaway Cay, but since ds can't control his body temperature, I'm not sure how long we'll stay out on the island anyway.

That's the way to drown those sorrows! Oooh, the Disneyland Hotel this time! Still a girls trip?

Isn't it? Yes, it's a girls only trip still. We are going for Dapper Day so that will be fun. I'm dressing in Ursula style. Kacy bought me the cutest bow. It's an Ursula bow and it's so cute. It was for my birthday.

That will be so much fun!! We did dapper day at mk the day FoF started. Be sure to check out their website. There are usually special events for attendees that are not Disney run.

I have been. The nice thing about Dapper Day at DLR they have their exposition at the DLH. So, we don't have far to go. Also we are staying their rate. It's a huge discount, around 40% off.

Happy Star Wars Day! May the 4th be with you!

Today has been such an exciting day. It began with a text from @yulilin3 about the Rebel Lounge possibly opening. After 5 phone calls to Disney Dining, I was able to get the reservation I was looking for!!

Once that was taken care of, next on the agenda was heading to DHS. I got a text from someone in our cruise group telling me the 3 stores that were carrying the May the 4th merchandise.

Bag check lines were HUGE. It was like Christmas or Easter Day H-U-G-E!!! Every table was open.

Here is where I'm going to split this day's TR into several posts. After bag check we headed to get ds' DAS card switched to his mb.

The line to get into GS was H-U-G-E. Not quite as long as back check, but it was longer than I've seen in a long time.

There was a cm outside asking people what they needed so that questions could be answered right away, and only those needing to go inside went inside. As cm became available, they would come to the door and escort the guest they'd be taking care of to their station. Ours came and was very helpful and explained how the DAS will work in the mb. DS asked if he could keep the old card because he liked the picture on it. She stamped VOID across each part of the DAS card except the page with his picture.

As for merchandise, there were pins, shirts for May the 4th and 5th, an Ewok named Teebo plush, tumbler, and magic bands. We saw some newer blasters too.

DAS didn't work out too well. We used it once, for the Frozen Sing-along. It took the cm a good 10 minutes to set it up with a return time. For some reason the hand help kept having him log in again and again. Once it stopped, he was able to get the return time set up for 1:10pm. When we returned, the cm asked if we had a DAS return and said that ds needed to be scanned first. It didn't work, it told her that we were to return in a couple hours. We had a FP+ for the sing-along for 3:25. She asked another cm what to do, and she ended up overriding it.

While we were at the show, I got an email notification that our 1:50pm FP+ for GMR needed to be changed because the attraction was not available. It gave us a bunch of choices and said it was good from 1:50 until 10pm.

When we returned at 3:25 for our FP+ it didn't use our sing-along FP+, instead it used the FP+ from the attraction change. I showed this to a manager, and she suggested changing the Frozen FP+ to another attraction. MDE would not let me. It said I could only change our 4:40pm FP+ for Star Tours. So the cm wrote for an anytime, any attraction yellow ticket. So the 3:25 FP actually took away 2 FP, 1 because the time elapsed for the sing-along FP and the FP+ from the change of GMR. At least we could use the "Golden Ticket", and ds chose TSMM.

They really need to work the bugs out from that system.

All in all May the 4th was a really good day at DHS. There was nothing advertised for today. No mention of anything in the times guide. However, we were able to find out through cast members that Star Wars characters would be out until 6pm. We found stormtroopers marching. Bumped into Chewbacca and jawas in line for Star Tours! The jawa traded. One tried to take ds' wheelchair because it was shiny, then went for the Yoda Duffy. DS didn't agree to that trade. Instead it was a trade for a paper Darth Vader snowflake for a Jawa sign. Darth Vader was having a M&G. We saw it from a distance, but didn't get there in time. I heard that Modal Nodes were hanging around Star Tours and riding it too. Someone spotted Princess Leia at the GMR. We didn't see either the Modal Nodes or Leia.
