Spent a short but sweet day at Disneyland today.

Woke up early and could tell it was going to be wonderfully warm for a change (it's been cool and dreary lately). So I headed on up to the happiest place on earth.

When I arrived at approx. 9:05, I was worried bc the Mickey & Friends parking structure seemed very crowded. In fact, I was parked on the very top - Minnie level. But not to worry, the process went very fast and I was on the tram and in Disneyland by 9:18.

Once inside Main Street, I hopped onto the horsedrawn carriage. I was then off to Space Mountain - zero line. Awesome. Then to Autopia (10 minutes). Had a really great time on this ride, much better than I remembered.

I then headed over to Fantasyland and jumped in line for Alice bc the line was suspiciously short. I should have known better - it had broken down. But happy days, only for 5 minutes. Comment to Disney Maintenance: one of the little shoes on top of the mushroom by the book is missing and needs to be replaced.

After Alice I then went in line for Peter Pan, which was also suspiciously short. Of course, it too had broken down. This time I decided not to wait. So I headed to Frontierland via the new entrance between the castle and the new Mexican Restaurant, Rancho del Zocalo. The place was empty, I must have been the first person in the place today. The food looked very good and the restaurant is very nicely themed, but it was a little to early for lunch. (I passed it again at 1:00, it was packed to the gills).

I then went over to the Haunted Mansion (10 minute line). Then onto lunch at the Royal Street Veranda which I ate over at the River Belle Terrace to enjoy the view of the Rivers of America.

From there I picked up an Indy Fast Pass and rode the Jungle Cruise (15 minutes). Then it was on to It's A Small World where a very annoying man and his wife were behind me in line. He was just so critical of everything. When we got to the loading area he and his wife were instructed to go in row 2, I was in row 1. Well, the party of 2 in front of him loaded the boat. This man who could not follow directions if his life depended on it proceeded to force them over and sat next to them. I felt so sorry for the other party, all packed in like sardines.

When it was time to disembark, he was in the boat in front of mine. Of course, he got off before his boat had docked. The cast member tried to stop him, but he was oblivious or purposedly tried to ignore him. Uggh...

Then it was off to Toon Town which I just walked around and saw the sights (Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Pluto).

Then over to Indy Jones. Fun as always. By now, the crowds were picking up and it was getting warmer by the minute. So I decided to head out. But first I picked up an apple dipped in fudge on Main Street. I then went over to take the Monorail. I thought I would ride it over to Downtown Disney, but the line was 60 minutes! Yike. Forget that. I decided to hoof it over to the tram. It was now about 2:30.

All in all it was a great impromptu day.

It sounds like you had a great day. I loved to go to DL on the spur when I lived in LA!
