Something About Nothing............ #14

Well, I was ‘good’ this am. Skipped the leftover xmas cookies to dunk in my coffee, went with special K with the freeze-dried strawberries for breakfast.

Now, I’m trying to control myself until dinner. For some reason cereal, other than oatmeal, never really fills me up thru dinner. :confused3

Ants in pants here, low 50’s tempered by heavy rain. think I’ll go clean out one of the mr’s exploding dressers as that is something that never crosses his radar. Why is it most men think it’s ok to hold onto socks & underwear until they disintegrate?

Good choice!!!! That is being good......I must admit to having a lovely lunch that did fill me up, we had wraps filled with thai salad and spicy chicken.....but, starting to feel a little peckish now, could do with a snack, but will try to abstain till dinner!

your weather sounds similar to ours, rain is on now, but my goodness that wind is up!!

Good luck with the drawers......lol......

Yep, .....my lovely friend has decided not to give up meat after all.....and I gave her 3 weeks to get it out of her system......:rotfl:

He txt to let us know....... lol.....

Anyone watching Woman of the Dead on Netflix???

Austrian drama that`s dubbed instead of subtitles, quite gritty as some of these European dramas tend to be. Watched a couple of episodes so far, there`s only 6, but it`s gripping.

Nope, I need a snack....even a small one will do........

Howdy Y'all! Long time no type!
Just wanted to say I miss y'all! Been so much craziness going on here! BIZ & family stuff.

We did the whole Grandkids and Disney in December...(plus a few days of USO just for us old Grandparents.) Had to get my VelociCoaster fix!!! BEST.RIDE.EVER!!! :worship:
Tons of fun but had to cut it short by a couple of days-again. BroomHilda took a nasty fall while we were outta town and broke her 84 year shoulder. She's healing up slowly but it didn't help her demeanor any. (She's still just as demean as ever!) o_O
Headed back for Mardi Gras next month!!! :joker:
Thinkin' of my crew here!

Health and Wealth to all!

Robert

P.S. BroomHilda is the Mother In Law. Mostly.

Hello and happy day to everyone posting or just reading here!

Been busy trying to go through clothes and odds and ends to empty out our closets
I cleared out my closet(oh check me with the American words…lol)yesterday and it’s looking pretty empty.
I’ve been on a fitness kick this last 2 years so the only thing I wear out of work clothes is sports stuff. When I hit the Florida outlets in June it will be back to bursting though.

Good to see you buckeev.....

I agree, the Velocicoaster is the best ride ever!!! Front row or back row for us....can`t be beaten.

Hope your Mother in law heals nicely, that`s not an age to be breaking bones, good wishes to her...and you head back next month for MG!!! Fabulous.....have a blast.

Finished watching Woman of the Dead......holy moly, what a ride it was! I do hope there`s a second series as it was excellent, beautiful Austrian scenery too.

Enjoying a gin and tonic right now, just the one, although it is only 9pm......and it is Thirsty Thursday...... 😉

Yay for a Buckeev post. Sending mummy dust well wishes to you MIL. Not fun at all to break a bone when older. Throw some beads for me. I’ll make it for Mardi Gras one of these years.

Broke down, and poorer pocketbook, as was surprised OI tickets still available. Hehe, as told little one, won’t be mad to not get moving early that day. We will certainly take advantage of not only the rides, with hopefully very short or no line, but the food and drinks too. Said a light late lunch that day. Oh heck, she never gets moving most days. We will have express, so whatever. I tend to go much earlier than her, then we meet up around lunchtime. Don’t care. That’s what vacation is all about. Relaxing and enjoying yourself.

Greetings from a cold, dreary, rainy part of Virginia. It's a good night to stay at home.

I`m spoiled and can barely change a light bulb either.....I really should learn!
At the house we used to live in whenever we had to replace one of the bulbs that were there when we moved in it broke off into the light socket. Every. Single. Time. I don't know if the problem was the bulbs, the fixtures, or both.

Quite moving to watch the coverage today. Unthinkable our area’s third officer on end of watch in just a little over a decade, due to out of town criminals.
So sad and senseless.

My beloved son in law had his end of watch several years ago. His sons were 3 and 5 y/o and Robin was heartbroken. Prince William came over as a surprise speaker to our COPS event in Washington DC.
So sorry to hear this.

I think I would be willing to do some drinking if it meant a bookcase would assemble itself. Dh and I have assembled too much furniture together. I refuse to do it anymore.

Last night’s excitement here. The driver had left his rig running without engaging his air brakes. I’m marveling at the video, check out the SUV. Driver was on the money, I’d have probably fainted on the spot and been smushed.o_O

Yikes! Glad no one was hurt.

Well, I was ‘good’ this am. Skipped the leftover xmas cookies to dunk in my coffee, went with special K with the freeze-dried strawberries for breakfast.
I have been trying to get rid of all the leftover candy and then I will make an attempt at some serious weight loss. I could just throw it out, but I hate throwing out something that was gifted to me.

Howdy Y'all! Long time no type!
Hi Buckeev! Hope MIL heals quickly.

I'm off to see if there is anything worth watching on TV tonight.

Eh. I tend to find crap on the tv some nights Charade. Reruns that I’ve actually remembered as seen before.

Sigh. Phone just flashed rain coming in the next 10 minutes. Yeah, no need to go out. Funny. Went out to do a Target run, and coffee pick up after I got off the screen. Phone flashed heavy rain in the next 5 minutes as we parked the car at home. We gathered the bags and within a few minutes, saw and heard the rain from inside. Got back just in time. Local weather evening news said we are having rare thunderstorms, with already heard thunder, for a date in January. Oddly, tonight will rise in temps, and stay in the 50’s, but cold front arrives tomorrow. 50 degrees in morning, 40 by lunchtime, 30’s one the afternoon, and 20’s overnight into Saturday morning. Thankfully, thanks to a front just off shore, the cold air will only be around on Saturday. By Sunday and warmer next week, as 10 day forecast, will be in more average for this time of year, in the mid 40’s the high temp.

Woot! Fabulously feeling Friday when you wake up tomorrow. No alarm for me. Woot!

Hey Pumpkin......good to see you......hope you`re doing good......

Hi Buckeev! Hope MIL heals quickly.

I'm off to see if there is anything worth watching on TV tonight.

lol.....I think we have only ever put together one thing and I think it was maybe 28 years ago......everything else from then was bought ready built or as in the case of closets, we get the guys to fit them.

Yes, I don`t like giving away things that were gifts, but things we bought that we hadn`t eaten by last week were given to food banks or to the hospice where we know a few nurses that work there, gifts like that are always appreciated. But, good luck with the weight loss, it`s not easy.

Sad news about Lisa Marie Presley, she did not look good in pictures 2 days ago. So very young though.

Wind has thankfully died down, still very breezy, but nowhere near as bad as last night.

Planning to walk into the village this morning, visit the butcher, baker and we don`t have a candlestick maker but will pop into our deli, it`s quite small, not as big as the one we really like in the next village, but they have a good selection of items.

Making lasagne for dinner tonight with salad, made the meat sauce last night, will put it together later, bought some fresh lasagne sheets yesterday so we`re sorted.

But, another quiet day ahead for us.......scary movie night ahead......

Happy Friday the 13th 🐈‍⬛

Sad, reading of Lisa Marie Presley. 54 is so young to pass away.

Ah a Friday is here. And little one wants to go to a casino, as old enough to stay in it and gamble now. There’s one not that far from us, so I think we will go there. I have never been to that one, but they tend to be all the same. We are not casino going people. When I was 21, my sister took me to a casino, as only ones in the area were down the shore, and we made a day at the beach besides visiting a casino. I put a quarter in a slot machine, and won 13 dollars. I stopped and cashed out. More than paid for my lunch back then. But since it’s a week day, I’m thinking won’t be that crowded, and there’s other shopping around where that casino is. Or may look at the weather down the shore today. If it’s nice enough, may head there. Lots of cute beach towns near the town with the casinos. Can make a day shopping and sight seeing there too. But either way, I’m sure we won’t get moving until late in the morning.

And so, up that ever early morning rising homie. Even on the biggest tv, still not much new on week day mornings, other than news. I listen to the radio when I get up. The one channel is all news 24 hours a day. Gives what’s happening local, national and sometimes even world news, in around a 10 minute run down. Then news is repeated, with any updates in the next 10 minutes and so on, every day. When I’m driving, I tend to change from music, to that channel to get the traffic news. Always on the twos, so I change close to that time. Then I hear all the local traffic in a few minutes.

So a wonderful and fabulous Friday is here. Hope you all have such today.

Yea time. Yep, almost every day,

Happy Friday the 13th. So far I am the only one awake. Today’s excitement will include paying bills and cleaning the house.

Eh. I tend to find crap on the tv some nights Charade. Reruns that I’ve actually remembered as seen before.
That’s pretty much what was on last night. I still can’t watch the streaming services. Dh is going to try a couple more things with the TV today. If that doesn’t work it looks like we will be purchasing a new one.

Sad news about Lisa Marie Presley, she did not look good in pictures 2 days ago. So very young though.
Very sad and unexpected. She was only a few weeks younger than me.

I am trying to decide if I want to go ahead and start planning a September trip. I have an airline voucher that I got for using my American Airlines credit card. I need to use it before the end of April. I was looking last night, and with the voucher I could get a flight for $159 round trip. I doubt it will get much better than that.

Charade, as this guys says:
AA7866E8-91B3-40F2-8044-23CD32F3EEF6.gif

That sounds like a decent price for the flights. Usually price does not go down. At least then you know one part of your trip is now planned and paid for. SW opens flights next month. I will be booking the day they open. I gave some credit from previous flight, so will use it to reduce price. Will see how many points, as may have enough to cover. Did they 2 years ago, and even with having to still pay some fees, 56 dollars round trip was sweet. Bill paying. Yeah, I have ti do that tomorrow. Not a fun activity. At least while you are out , can start to look for a replacement tv.

Ooh a nice enough day, rain is almost gone. Drizzling and some rain to start in the next half hour, then a sky filled with no wet containing clouds. 50 degrees out now. Will be not even 40 by dinnertime. Thankfully only one day where high temp is not much above freezing, Saturday But high weather system arrived on Saturday evening will blow all those clouds away, and so perfect wall to walk sunshine for Sunday and Monday. Eh, even with 42 and 45 degrees the high temps those two days, jacket and fashionable shades. Woot!

Both kids have not risen yet. I am sure I’ll have to tell little one to get moving not much after older one leaves for work. I am hoping for a still morning ready to go for us too.

when i was taking a casual look at February availability (just window shopping, as I told the mr:rolleyes1), was surprised to see the OI still open for Feb dates. With so many dates now, maybe over-saturating the market. Have never done, the value just isn’t there for me having an AP, others do really seem to love it tho. Agree it’s nice to switch trips up, as things can get stale

since I renewed my WDW AP yesterday, my pocket book is a bit light too tho. Really can’t complain as they still have a moratorium on new sales. However, let’s just say I could’ve bought 2 brand new U APs. Only two more to buy this year. So glad I have the renewal dates staggered.

did anyone get the U survey on the FOTL potential costs with the new park? talk about shooting for the stars there, yikes.
At the house we used to live in whenever we had to replace one of the bulbs that were there when we moved in it broke off into the light socket. Every. Single. Time. I don't know if the problem was the bulbs, the fixtures, or both.
Had this happen so often when I was showing houses after the tenants moved. I took to keeping a box of bulbs in my car along with a potato to jam into the shard to help remove it when it would break.

PS mind boggling how many people take every single light bulbs with them when they move. There’s frugal, then there’s cheap

anyhow, the DH explained this phenom…ventured that fixtures were likely older & aluminum. Paraphrasing here - they tend to almost ‘weld’ with non led bulbs bases after long usage. Another scenario I recall, the bases were low rated (as in 40 watt & you were using higher bulb capacity).

Making lasagne for dinner tonight with salad,
In the crockpot? :duck:

Everything set for the birthday weekend?
Sad, reading of Lisa Marie Presley. 54 is so young to pass away
Indeed, One could argue the family is cursed. Will say, i barely recognized her from her Golden Globe appearance this weekend. Looked so haggard & frail, as one often does after a long illness. RIP
And little one wants to go to a casino
Woohoo

Our oldest ‘smart tv’ was like that, other than the preset ones, you were stuck. A Vizio. You can mirror from phone, a hassle for me. now in a spare BR That GD or one of DS use when staying over. Takes them seconds to set up Guess it’s all in your familiarity, i admittedly struggle at times.
SW opens flights next month.

The 9th I believe Offhand.

Haven’t bought on day one in years here as they come out of the gate so high for our market. Within a few days, prior to weekend, prices usually tend to stabilize. Just not for the last 6 months tho :headache:

guessing too much pent up demand, especially in our small market. Probably doesn’t help having many still with covid credits to utilize on SWA. If not for the spirit or allegiant, i’d have lopped off a trip or two from last year’s travels as SWA release fares are double if not triple from what was a norm a year ago. Somebody is getting those $59 one way fares. Just not us. I’d be happy to see $169 again.

Well, was shocked to find out flights under 200 round trip, and have 40.02 credit to use, as way back went down 20 dollars the other day. Keisha. Will see what opening us for September. Yeah. OI is a very expensive night, but I figure I always wanted to try it once, and how nice, seems maybe one of the lowest crowded ones. So we are game. Will do a review if anyone is interested. Gotta use our APs as much as can, and scored HR at a good rate I snagged in a hit minute. Now more than double what I booked at.

Ooh she’s ready!

It`s far too young for sure. Yes, to coin a phrase from a sports company.....just do it......get your flights booked, that`s a fantatstic price!!

Funny, you were the first person I thought of thinking of Friday the 13th.....lol...only because of your love for horror!!

Snow....yes, heaven help us from the hoarders. If I`m stuck at home due to weather, I want wine, snacks and goodies....not bread!!! That might say more about me though.....lol.....

I`ve been inundated with surveys recently, yes, I think that topic was in one or two of them. Wonder where they`re headed with that one. As if we couldn`t guess.

Yep, he`s out tonight with friends I think, he`s going out with us tomorrow night for dinner on his actual birthday, he has a physio appointment in the afternoon so we`ll see him in the morning for his gifts and cards. Sunday he has a birthday lunch with someone else, then next Saturday is a proper birthday meal out with a load of friends, that night suited most better. I told him he`s just following the lead of the Keisha family, keeping the celebrations going for a week 🎉....why not!!

lol......I forgot about trying that in the slow cooker.....

I think I need to see a picture to examine your crock pot dish 😉 Then again, our lasagne is slightly different to the ones served in the US.

3 layers of meat sauce, lasagne sheets, topped with bechamel or plain old cheese sauce made from a roux, I use 3 cheeses absolutely gorgeous!! It`s quite set when you cut it into portions.

Not my picture, but identical to what I make.

One of my friends has become a grandma!! I`m over the moon for them all......hadn`t heard from her for a while, she`s so busy, but happy to hear there`s a new baby to celebrate!!

Did go out a walk to the village, so darn cold.....nice sunny afternoon though, but nice looking out from a cosy room!

Pitch black outside but it`s getting slightly later which is nice to see again.....ready for spring!!

PS mind boggling how many people take every single light bulbs with them when they move. There’s frugal, then there’s cheap
That's insane. I would much rather buy all new lightbulbs.

The house we lived in was only 4 years old when we moved in. Maybe it was the higher bulb capacity. I have no idea.

The really frustrating thing is that our TV is only 5 years old. We know it must be something with the TV because we can stream on every other device in the house. For some unknown reason the TV will no longer connect with the WiFi. If dh can't figure this out we will be going shopping tomorrow.

Schumi was posting as I was posting.
That lasagna looks really good. I can't remember when I last ate lasagna.

I was in a bit of denial when my friends started becoming grandparents. Then I remembered that these women had their first child at around 20-21 years old. I was almost 33 when B was born.
