Soarin' does not have a Mile High Club! Trip report- 8/20 final chapter.

I got a little behind but have caught back up. Love the pics from the Storytellers breakfast. We will be doing that for the first time this trip. I've got to learn which bear is which.....lol It's actually a movie we don't have!!

Also got a kick of the pics on Screamin'.........lol, too many smiles......I'm screaming & eyes closed for the entire ride...... :rotfl:

I thought it was exceptionally crowded that day too. It wasn't as crowded on Friday when I made my solo jaunt over there.

Wonder why that day was so packed?

Thanks! We haven't left Utah, but we moved away from SLC. We'll be living with my in-laws until our house sells and will be starting new jobs in the next few weeks.

I'm reporting live from Disneyland. It's been fun but mega hot--about 10 degrees higher than the forecasts we had the day before we left. We leave tomorrow. :sad2:

Where are you moving too? New jobs? popcorn:: Wishing you the best of luck during this time of change. :goodvibes

Great pictures. That bug light is really cool!

:thanks: I swear I take that picture everytime. I think Bug's Land is so well themed.

Me too! :lmao: That upside down part just freaks me out. :scared1:

Honestly I am guessing that everyone had the same idea that I did, I thought because there was no WoC that it would be a slow day to go.

Just want to give a quick apology for being a total trippie slacker. This summer has been insanely fun and crazy so I am not able to update like usual.

The orginal plan:

The original plan

What actually happened…………………

Tonight was our last at the GCV and I was super sad to leave. I am trying to learn how to enjoy the day before change/leaving and it’s just not my forte. I have decided that for future trips, we won’t be adding on nights unless we can stay at the same resort. While another day in Disney rocks, it’s not worth the headache anymore. Now that we own DVC, paying OOP for a hotel seems silly. We hit Disneyland as planned.

After a few rides we met my friend whose hubby works for Disney. We did some massive shopping, had lunch, and enjoyed Fantasyland with her and her darling little girl:

Not quite sure who took this but I like it:

And finally DH’s favorite photo spot:

We headed back to the villa and took this of Chloe with her new and old friends. She is a plush toy fanatic!

We got back fairly early and I started to pack, knowing we'd be moving to the PPH the next day. Our friends would continue their road trip but first we'd enjoy one last day at Disneyland together.

Sounds like a great day was had by all. I like the picture with the funny faces. My dd loves plush toys too.

I know this is gonna sound silly but I miss all of our planning conversations.

:grouphug: I miss you girlies. I think it depresses me to hang out and read about Disneyland when our APs are good through October and we aren't going.

I understand because I have avoided the Dis too when I wanted to go and couldn't.

 We woke early today with a plan to make rope drop and have bell services take our stuff to the PPH. I had waitlisted a villa but it never came through. I would have forfeited the $175 to stay another night in the Grand. :lovestruc We had stayed at the PPH in 2007 and loved it. Lemme just say either things have gone downhill at the PPH or we are spoiled by DVC. Or both. ;)

We packed up, ate breakfast (bagels and fruit), and called bell services to grab our bags. Our friends would be carrying on their road trip but first they would join us for a half day in Disneyland.

A few last photos of the Grand while on our way to first MK and then DCA. I cannot tell you how sad I was to leave. The Grand isn't just a catchy name.

Up first, Indy as usual. :cloud9:

We also rode POTC, HM, BTMRR, and IASW. Our friends showed back and we spent the morning together. They said goodbye and we cried as usual :grouphug: because we aren't sure the next time we'll see each other. I am hoping our Dec 2011 WDW trips overlap by at least a few days. Jenna follows the rules and tries to have her kids not miss much for vacation. I am from the other school of learning. :littleangel:

We were tired and hungry when we got to DCA so we headed to the Pier for lunch:

It was about 2:00 at this time so I called the PPH and asked if our room was ready. They told me 3:00 so we shopped a bit and headed over at 2:45.

Our room was not ready but we did get a couple of photos in the lobby. I just love Surfer Goofy:

At 3:00 I went back to the front desk and guess what? No room. :headache: They said 30 minutes tops so we decided to head to the pool and chill.

At 4:15 our room was ready and what a dingy little icky room it was. I used to love the PPH, like love it, but it seemed very rundown and not up to Disney standards. But it was only for one night. The kids all napped and DH headed to El Pollo Loco to grab us dinner. Utah doesn't have El Pollo Loco.

After dinner, it was back to Disneyland to enjoy our last night. The last night is always so bittersweet for me. I know we'll be back and had a great vacation but I always get emotional and shed a tear or 50.

In line at Indy and enjoying Mickey Rice Krispie treats:

And 2 final pics in front of the castle:

We shopped on the way out but did most of our shopping with my friend the day before.

It had been a fabulous trip to Disneyland but we were tired. 6 days straight was a lot. Next time we'll have *down* days to enjoy the resort more.

Up next..............a day at the beach.

We woke up about 9 and hightailed it out of there. I was not sad to leave the PPH. At all. We headed to PCH and ate at Harbour House on PCH. :cloud9:

We stayed at the beach until about 3:00 and then headed to Mesquite, NV for the night. There we checked into the Casablanca which was WAY cheaper but just as crappy as the PPH. I guess I am officially a hotel snob. :snooty:  We grabbed a quick bite from the casino restaurant and headed to the pool. I think we all crashed about 11 pm.

That Sunday was Father's Day and what better way to celebrate than with Jack in the Box. Utah doesn't have JITB either.

DH opened his gifts; some Mickey golf balls and Disneyland fudge along with 2 Hurley shirts.

In the infamous words of Paul Simon, we were now ho-homeword bound....

Thanks everyone for reading. I will keep this open over the weekend for any comments and then ask the mods to close it Monday. :grouphug:
