Share your budget?

I appreciate the opportunity to share and get feedback on my BEO, which I have been procrastinating to get done.

We definitely will cut out the transportation because it looks like very few are staying at a Disney World resort. Please share any ways you have cut down because we will need to do some serious slashing to get the numbers where they need to be! Thanks!

The big ones would be transportation and switching to a Bill On Consumption bar for cocktail hour and dinner, then eliminating the bar at the dessert party altogether. You are almost guaranteed to save big bucks by paying only for what guests actually drink instead of a package, and with the dessert party only being an hour, directly after the reception, you really won't need any more alcohol.

I would also suggest keeping transport but going with one-way vans at $40/each. I'd even cut out the limo and take a van myself if I were the bride. You only need to get people to the ceremony and home from the reception, and it's a nice gesture for those who are unfamiliar with WDW and its complicated transportation system.

You used to be able to, but that has changed. It's mentioned in the two most recent versions of the PassPorter e-book, which you can re-download for free whenever it is updated. :thumbsup2

I thought I remembered being able to get the updated copy for free, but my email address wasn't recognized by passporter (even though they email me constantly). Oh well, was worth the small charge again! Perhaps their servers only hold your email for purchases for so long. It's been about 5 years since my first wedding passporter purchase.

I'm going to PM you and see if we can get this sorted out. You should never have to pay for an update. :thumbsup2

I had the same issue Carrie, but I already paid for the update :( Glad to know it didn't happen to just me, thought maybe I entered something incorrectly. Oh well!

I'm so sorry to hear this! You can always email support@passporter.com if you're having trouble getting into your account, and they'll help you sort it out.

I am thinking about having a signature drink at my reception and at my dessert party instead of doing a bar package. I remember hearing on Carrie's podcast :) that someone did this, but I can't find any information on this. Does anyone have any? Has anyone done this?
I am curious of available options and prices.
My thoughts are mimosas for brunch and then either some sort of cocktail or possible even a frozen type cocktail for the dessert party. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

You might want to re-post this out in the main forum with a title like "Signature Drink Ideas and Options?" — I think more people would see it out there and have ideas to share. DISer BethieTink was on the podcast about BOC bars, and she did several specialty cocktails, plus spiked slushies. Here's her planning journal/trip report: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2731438

:thumbsup2

I'm new to these forums...and I know this is a silly question... how in the world do people "bump" threads so they end up back on the main page after getting buried for a while?? Would love to see if there's any recent bride's BEO out there :wave2::wave2::confused3

There's a couple recent BEO's on the last two pages, including mine. Someone more experienced will have to answer your question. Welcome to the group.

Carolwoodpacific- I remember seeing yours recently and thought to myself, I can't wait until we get to see pics... floral sounds very pretty from the descriptions.

Anyone want to share their DCL wedding budget?? I've been looking for clues on how much it's going to be in real life!! :)

Hi guys, quick question as I am looking over a couple of these BOE's and budgets. When hitting the minimum expenditure for lets say a Wishes Sunday wedding which is $15,000, does the $15000 need to be reached before tax and service charges or sre those extra charges part of the minimum expenditure?

Minimum expenditure is before tax and service charges.

I'd love to see this too! :)

I am planning my wedding now and we originally were planning on the 4925 that the escape collection costs plus tax with no dinner included. Now that we have received our planning kit we are looking to spend close to 7000 after we added enhancements

. I'd love to see what you added on, and costs, if you have time! :)

I am the most low key future bride out there, I think, but I have a serious budget question - does anyone ever just go with the basic Escape Wedding package? I want to get married on a weekday in July or August (he knows he has to pop the question soon for us to make it, lol), and other than a rehearsal dinner (maybe Luau?) and an Illuminations Dessert Party, I don't want any extras. Can that be done, or do I have to spend a minimum amount?

I hate to sound dumb, especially since I am so experienced with other aspects of WDW (passholder for 10+ years, long-time poster on other boards, etc). But everything I read seems to assume people already know the basics. I am totally clueless!
