Sci-Fi Dine-In late Dinner

Hi,
I'm booked for a 7.45pm dinner at Sci-Fi Dine-In but the park closes at 8pm on this day is this normal, do you still get to eat in leisure? Only other times are mid afternoon 3-4pm

Yep, we've had very similar reservations at Sci-Fi right near park closing and service was not rushed at all! You will still get to eat and relax at your time! No worries

Its normal.
They won't rush you at all.
Just like the rest of the restuarants will not rush you at all near closing.

Just keep in mind the bus and boat I believe stop running an hour after park close, so if your meal goes later than that you'll need to find a different way back to your resort. (unless you drove or are staying at an epcot resort that you can walk to)

Thank you, not driving so will keep that in mind. We are staying at POP at that stage of our trip so I guess it's a bit of a walk!!! LOL

One of the things I love about dining in WDW. You can be there after park close AND before park open for meals. I know you can't do anything but it's a cool experience walking through an almost empty park. You can take it all in and get some cool pictures without 9571 of your closest friends behind you

How late do the buses run? Now a little worried about a SciFi reservation at closing time. My DH would flip if I said we needed to call a cab.

I think there will be buses. But an uber is really cheap.

On a typical night they will continue to run an hour after closing

Don't worry about transportation. We had a late dinner at SciFi in early January, and our ADR time was even after the Star Wars show/fireworks, and then we waited a bit for a table so we didn't even get seated until well after park close. We were not rushed at all, and walked slowly out through the empty park. Our plan was to walk back to BC, knowing the boats would be long since stopped. A CM was waiting just outside the gates, and asked when we were staying. He then escorted us to a bus, and the driver drove us back to BC...just us...our own private bus. If you're staying onsite, Disney will get you back to your hotel no matter how late you finish dinner.

Disney will never leave you stranded at a park. IF the buses have stopped there will be a combined bus or other transportation provided.

This was our experience too with a reservation at park closing time at Tiffins. It was awesome having our own private chariot to take us back to the resort
