I really enjoyed reading about your DLP experience! Makes me want to scheme on how to get there one day. I would definitely want to splurge on the Disneyland Hotel - how fantastic! I will definitely stick around to read about your Sept. trip and maybe more updates on your move to the UK. Thanks for taking the time to share your trip with us!
To me, if you're going to splurge and go to Disneyland Paris, then you might as well go big and stay at the Disneyland Hotel. I've stayed at the Polynesian and the Contemporary - some of the closer hotels to the MK - and they hold a candle to proximity and convenience to the Disneyland Hotel.
I will try and remember to include any little tidbits about our move this summer. Alex and I are at the point where we just want to get over there and start exploring. Before we do, though, we are going back to the states for a month and have a grand Disney trip planned, so it'll be an exciting summer for our family!
This has been a great trip report. I'm glad you got to experience DLP as an American and enjoyed it for it's worth. I look forward to your next DLP trip report and maybe sometime in the future I might be able to see you while I'm there.
It was a lot of fun taking the time to explore the parks and get the chance to enjoy another park outside of Walt Disney World. It makes me want to visit Disneyland in CA, and Alex wants to go to Disney Sea now.
What a great end to your trip! I feel like its SO hard to leave Disney when you can leave whenever you feel like and dont have a plane to catch! My family learned that the hard way the one time we drove and we left way too late and timed it perfectly to hit all of the terrible Atlanta traffic. But it seems like a great way to end your trip with a ride on BTMRR and a decent lunch!
And of course I'll be sticking around to here about your September trip as well!!
I can see how having a set flight can help with leaving Disney.
Alex and I made a horrible mistake once, back when Landon was 13 months old. We stayed until 6 p.m. because we were like, "Landon can sleep in the car and it'll be his normal bedtime." We failed to think that we would be exhausted after a day of park hopping with a baby! Alex drove the first 3 hours while I crashed, and then I had to take over for the remaining 4 hours. That was the only time ever in all our travels that I had to drive.
So we've definitely become more strict about leaving at a certain time, but it's really hard!
I really enjoyed your report! It was so fun to see your meetups and how much the kiddos have changed!
Thanks for reading! It blows my mind that Dugette and I really started talking on our kids' first Disney trip when they were around 1. Now they're kindergartners and fast friends.
