Well...I went...I saw...I conquered! ;)

All I can say is...it was fantastic - expensive it was, but it was worth every point without a doubt - a truly unique experience.

A ship full of DVC'ers...one big family...and boy, do us DVC'ers know how to party ;) Everyone was so friendly and chatty - where-ever I went, the lift, the deck, a show, the beach...people would stop and chat or say hello or just ask if we were having fun :smooth:

Then, there were the Stateroom goodies...

On entering our Stateroom there were limited edition Dangle SS Membercruise pins, a couple of other WD Classic Collection pins, and some really cute cardboard Mickey hands for us to all wave with at the Sailaway party (this was quite a bundle when added to our return cruisers pins and beach towel)

2nd night there was a little carry-all DVC bag

3rd night there was our DVC t-shirts with the big member cruise logo on the back - blue for adults, yellow for ankle biters - pretty cute, though made me feel a bit like a clone when everyone was wearing them the next day at Castaway Cay, LOL.

Then on the last night, there was a very cool collectors Teapot (and even some Tea!) in the room - black and white Mickey Sketch design and DVC exclusive printed on the bottom - a nice parting gift :)

Oh, and then there were all the extra activities laid on. Some guy, (can't think of his name right now) who was the ex-coach of the Redwings in the NHL was a guest and did a question/answer session and signing (and he's a DVC'er to boot - he rocks!). There was Andrea McCardle (sp?) who was Belle on Broadway for 2 years, she did a special show, and a signing the next day as well. There was another guy called, ummmm...I'll look that name up too! Tim something, he was a Disney Imagineer who was part of the team who designed both the Disney Magic and Wonder and just finished working on the DLP Studio's - he did a talk about all his work, plus a very cool ship tour telling us all about the special little features they worked into the ships design - it was truly fascinating. Oh, and on the 2nd Castaway Cay day, which usually is just a beach day there, they laid on some extra activities, like a Sandcastle competition, a Scavenger Hunt, Beach Volley ball (!) which if you participated in, you 'earned' vouchers to go into a draw to win prizes - it was a lot of fun too...even though I'd never played VolleyBall in my LIFE  Fortunately, everyone was playing in the spirit of things and nobody seemed to give a hoot, hehehe.

If they did another one of these (WHEN, the do another one of these) if I can work my dates, I would definately do it again!!!

I'm hooked....DVC...you can just reel me in now ;)

Hi Penny

Sounds like everyone had a great time - do you know if they have decided on another one yet ?

David :D

Sounds fab! (trying hard not to get insanely jealous here!;) )

I'm a complete sucker for any kind of 'free' gift - even though I know I've paid for it somwhere along the line! - so I would have been like the proverbial pig in clover with all those DVC exclusives!

You do get to have some fun, don't you Penny!

You've made me look forward to our cruise in May even more now.

There is no official word about another cruise...however, talking to the DVC CM's that were on board, it was undoubtably an unqualified success - from a member point of view and from their sales/add-on's point of view (the Magical Beginning's amount was doubled, for instance at BCV, it was $10 per point instead of the regular $5) - I feel confident that it'll be only a matter of time before there's another one (DVC would be crazy if they didn't!)

Hilary, you would have loved it then! :) Plus, I forgot to mention the SS Member Cruise metal logo lanyards we got with a little pocket at the bottom with your name on to identify you with the rest of the DVC'ers (if you wanted to keep it on) which was really nice (you need a lanyard on ship with it being cashless - it holds your room key/charge card), the vouchers for free drinks at the Castaway Cay Sailaway party - yes! Free alcohol from Disney...I nearly fainted! ;) And also the Member Update meeting where there were loads of goodies given out just for asking or answering questions...even if you were wrong  - we all got baseball caps, and there was a draw for cocktails in the Walt Disney Suite (read POSH) with the DVC top-bods, plus t-shirts, umbrellas, etc. I won a golfing umbrella  Obviously that would have never got thru security at the airport, so I asked if it could be swapped for something else (hoping vainly that they would give me the cocktail party) - instead we got more baseball caps (different colour though :) ) *sigh*

Kev - have you done a cruise before? If not, you're going to love it, I guarantee :)

First time for us Penny.

Tam can't wait. Mind you she will want to do the DVC cruise now. She loves a freebie.
