Royal Caribbean v. Disney - Newbie

I stopped cruising DCL some years ago and cruise on RC now (I've done one on Norwegian which does appear to treat its frequent cruisers better), solely because it is cheaper. a LOT cheaper. They also have a large variety of ships - big ones, small ones, in between. The best food on RC ships you have to pay for, but since you are paying a lot less for the cruise itself...

we are looking at a Royal Cruise for next summer. Our DDs will be 14 and 15 then. Anybody have thoughts on the "Teen Lounge"?
The teen lounge is important the first night. They have a teen get together and (at least temporary) friends are made.
