Anyone know how to do this from an Iphone?

No idea what makes the kooks more so during the holidays but while looking for cute memes I keep finding stuff that shouldn't be out there and I can't decipher how to report them. There is no spot that is supposed to be there with the iphone so s there a way to just write in the name of the website or something?

For all the noise these companies make about being proactive it's not user friendly to clean up, which speaks volumes about the commitment.

Turn on safe search.

I can't come up with any reason why one would expect not to run into things they take offense over on the internet. Google is merely a search engine and tells you what is out and available to view on the internet. There isn't any censorship on the internet. Turn safe search on.

You will be reporting things until the end of time. It's like the line about Hydra from Capt. America "cut off one head and two grow back."

You are much better off to
A) Stop using Google period. Change your default search engine to something like Duck Duck Go or a number of other ones that offer sanitized web searches (as best they can)
B) Install a Parental Control Filter (phone, computer or with your home router) there are even Add-on's for most browsers that help to filter junk like this too.
C) Block certain websites things like Tumbler, etc.
D) Reporting to Google is a bit of a waste, you really need to report to the host of the image. But if you want here is the info from Google

Nope, you missed the point.
One (meaning me, I suppose, in third person) does not "not expect" to find such things, one does, however, expect to have a way to report "things".

OK, again, not the point, it seems the website would know so why report to the offending party that they are offensive? I was under the impression that Google and such are expected to thwart this sort of thing considering kids do searches.

It's not that my feelings got a boo boo, it looked like child abuse so is preventing this not an obligation? Do people really just ignore everything?

If you suspect child abuse, why not report it to the local police or FBI office? If the images show something illegal, that's different than you finding them offensive, which is the way I read your OP "stuff that shouldn't be out there".

@LuvOrlando I can't read minds I have no idea if you are using an app, safari browser or just what. If it's magically appearing on your phone then you've been hacked. If you are using an app like IMGUR to view memes then contact them directly. Looking at memes is always an issue, all sorts of garbage gets mixed in. Again if we known what app you're using then we might be able to give you better advice.

As others have said, short of the image being illegal(child pornography) you need to either learn to ignore or install some sort of filter to try to limit your exposure to images you find offensive.

Google is a search engine that allows you to scan for items from all over the net. If you want to report something you think is 'inappropriate' (however you choose to define that), what you should do is report it to the site that is hosting the image (not the search engine).

It popped up as a meme so to whom exactly would this be reported, no reason to think this this is local and how would this be reported, is there a link to share links to be flagged? Actually the act of viewing a disturbing things is illegal so taking a snapshot is also definitely wrong, seems a catch 22.

How is this all supposed to work? My question is how does a person flag a thing that is illegal in the country I'm viewing from? How are we in 2022 and there is no easy way to flag an image for review because it appears to be illegal? Isn't this someone or some groups job and shouldn't there be a quick way to do this without wading into mud because I'm not following a freak?

I just read the US stands to collect around 1.58 trillion in taxes this year, you'd think it would buy a button on the internet to protect people because all the ads seem to have figured it out....

Viewing disturbing things is illegal?

I find horror movies disturbing. Does that mean that my son watching a horror movie is breaking the law?

As to our question, as others have pointed out Google is just a search engine. You need to locate the page that is actually hosting. For example if it was actually hosted at disboards.com you could generally send an email to postmaster@disboards.com or abuse@disboards.com. If it is really illegal you should also contact local law enforcement.

I highly doubt what you have found is illegal.

If you are an adult who is unaware that there are things illegal to view in the US I can't help you

If you are SURE it's ILLEGAL, or even SUSPECT it's illegal, contact your local police department or FBI. No, the local PD won't be the ones to investigate, but I bet you a Dole Whip they'll know who to contact to investigate.

And the problem with giving users a way to "flag" an image is people will be flagging images that ARE legal simply because they don't like it. That's going to waste LE's time & money. The whole First Amendment thing means if it's not illegal (child porn, child abuse, etc), it's allowed.

And if it falls into one of those categories, then what? I disagree with the idea it is a waste, we waste a lot more on a lot less

I'm walking away from what is a peculiar dialogue on this thread
