Seems as though someone has guestimated the number per group, no? Granted, that's a guestimate but it's something. I may have been imagining reading it too. So much info, only some much space left in my old brain, LOL
Yeah, between 75 to 100 per bg

that is a number we don't get until the end of the night but the backup bg start at 111
We were regular BG 111 on Monday and didn’t get called til after 6- apparently lots of issues with ride that day. Hubs DD has to get the BG as she’s the only one with all of us (she has a 4 year old that doesn’t show up on any one else’s MDE even tho all linked). She was in TSL and her app crashed twice. Not on wifi. Hubs and I did it yesterday -he was on WiFi and I wasn’t. He started form the join BG page, I was the page before and got BG 46 right away. All IPhones of varying ages.

Thanks. I keep worrying I won’t have a chance using WiFi!
You should. Granted, it's my last choice but lots can only use WiFi. I believe non-US guests are often on WiFi only, and there are LOTS of non-US guests at Disney.

Another thing to check, before groups open for sign up, that you are signed in to your MDE account. I find it signs me out all on it's own, all the time. It will look like I'm signed in but if I click on something that has personal info, like my Resort balance page or even to modify a FP, it takes me to the Sign in Page.

And on that note--make sure you know your password. I got kicked out of MDX on a BG morning--was logged in before entering the park and was kicked off after entering--and what I thought was my password wasn't. Fortunately, my sister was able to snag our BG. I ended up having to go to a CM to get my password fixed.

Great point. But I have two words
Password Keeper
I'm so old and brain so full that I've given up keeping up with all the various passwords.
I use a keeper/generator software that follows me from iPhone to PC to iPad to Macbook. And it uses face recognition. All I need to do is let it fill in the info and look at it. I'm signed in.

Someone posted on the DL ROTR thread that they went alone to DHS and didn’t know that their family had to be scanned in, and they got a CM to put all of their family into their BG even though the family were back asleep at the hotel??? Has anyone done this? It seems really unfair to those who dragged their little kids, their old grandmas and frankly themselves to the park at all hours of the morning to get a BG. Maybe this was very early on and the CMs thought people honestly didn’t have a chance to understand the system yet, but I can’t imagine them making this exception much. Honestly I wouldn’t have thought they would have done this at all. But per OP, they did.

I always say "no" is the worst thing that can happen when you ask anything.
This is definitely not the norm and it's at the discretion of the cm

I believe it. Nothing to bank on happening and I’m sure it doesn’t happen often, but I don’t doubt if you catch the right CM at the right moment they can make magic for a guest that otherwise wouldn’t be possible.

I think there’s almost always exceptions to Disney’s rules. See NPH during his constant re rides in December lol.

I was on as well. Escorted off and given a Fastpass for when it reopens. So frustrating after being here in HS since 5:30!

What boarding group were y'all?

I'm going to try to get a pass for just myself on our Epcot day, and I'd really rather get an afternoon/evening group, but considering how quickly they go, it seems like I should just make the reservation as quickly as possible.

If I get "lucky" and my group boards before noon, though, I'd be SOL. That's when all our Fastpasses at Epcot are for, and I know my mom wants me to spend the morning with her. :/

ugh, so stressful

We were BG 81. Got on the minute it was called. Got the BG at 7:01, called BG at about 12:30. Get on as early as you can to ensure that you will be able to ride that day.

Funny thing to say to people that just read 170 stress inducing pages of posts! 😀
:) I mean I've been saying this since day one, I am obviously in the minority of people not stressing over number of bg, number of people per bg, time of day anyone was called to a specific bg, etc.
My motto since day 1 has been, be at the entrance to DHS at least an hour before opening, have your app ready and join when it opens, that's it

It would be far easier to move your Epcot fastpasses around than to try to go for a certain time of day boarding group. I'd take whatever boarding group you can get, and then visit the blue-shirt cms to see if they can help you out if you need to wait until the afternoon to ride. Or they might also be able to help you move your Epcot fastpasses to the afternoon if you and your mom could work that out.

I didn't find it so stressful either. As long as you get your butt in the park before they open the groups, it's all you can do. The rest is out of your hands. Why stress over things YOU have zero control over. Me getting in the park is all I can control.
