Disney Summer typically starts Memorial Day weekend so that's why I guessed that. It could be later than that though.I hope so, we will be there Memorial Day which isn't technically summer.

I didn't know this, that makes me even more excited!!! I guess I always thought the first official calendar day of summer would be Disney summer also.Disney Summer typically starts Memorial Day weekend so that's why I guessed that. It could be later than that though.
Disney likes to start their summer activities at the end of May because that's when schools start getting out.I didn't know this, that makes me even more excited!!! I guess I always thought the first official calendar day of summer would be Disney summer also.
We've been to Disney World 11 times now, and the only time we have visited Rafiki's Planet Watch was on our first trip in 2008. If it is open when we are there in August we will visit for sure.
Well, I "liked" your post, as I appreciate the update, but I don't really "like" this. Kids will be disappointed.Looks like it won't reopen until August
UPDATE: Rafiki’s Planet Watch Will Not Reopen at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Until August, Walt Disney Exhibit Being Added
Honestly, they did have to reimagine it. Summer 2017, AK was packed. Long lines everywhere. Birds of wonder was standing room only.Of course we have to add animated character to this since they doing it to pretty much everything else. Anywhere they can shove in some IP. Instead of learning about the rain forest, we can learn how animators created Simba's movements. How very "Animal Kingdomesque" Rivers of Light is also adding animated Disney characters.
