Racing around Disney (giant scavenger hunt)-legal advice needed

BACKGROUND INFO- This last year, I have run an “Amazing Race” style scavenger hunt with my friends. Using the model from the show Amazing Race, I have developed challenges; A detour: This or That challenge where they get to choose one task to complete. And a roadblock: a challenge ALL competitors have to complete. They finish challenges, get to the pit stop to find me, I give them another envelope, do another challenge and so on and so forth until in the end there is one winner. I make race medals for all contestants using our 3D printer, shirts using my cricut, and offer up prizes for 1st/2nd/3rd place. Usually cute Disney things I’ve found on Etsy. I’ve run this race for them 3 times total this year amounting in 36 DIFFERENT scavenger hunt type challenges across the park (12 new tasks each race). Each time it’s gotten incrementally more challenging. And each time, they keep coming back for more! Begging me to do it again. Every time we run it we get a ton of compliments from other guests and cast members saying they would love this.

So now all my friends and family are encouraging me to sell this idea to others. Literally market to families/friends and then I would come to the park, and run a race for them while charging a premium for my time.

Which brings me to my question. If I want to market this and SELL my idea…could I get into any trouble legally? Are there any rules surrounding selling personal services while inside the parks?

My example would be someone using a nanny service NOT affiliated with Disney. I know people do this so I assume it’s ok?

Does anyone have any advice or feedback on this?

A nanny is essentially a guest of the family who supposedly pays their admission.
Disney does limit professional services from working within the park -- private photographers are not allowed. Selling

I'm not a lawyer but based on that I doubt your "service" would be allowed if WDW was aware. You could be escorted out. If you have an AP it could be revoked - I believe there is language something like personal use only or not for commercial purposes.

Not a lawyer, but I can't see how Disney would allow you to operate your business on their property without permission.

Now there is a scavenger hunt from Mouse Adventures that has taken place in Disneyland for multiple years. These were more like Disney puzzles, problem solving, not Amazing race stunts . ( What would happen if someone was injured or interrupted guests/operations?) You might see how they operate... and contact a lawyer.

I think to avoid legal issues you would need to work with Disney corporate. If they really like the idea it could be absorbed as an add-on service offered by them or maybe by you as a vendor/contractor. Either way they’re going to get their cut.

It does sound like fun. I did something similar at SeaWorld many years ago. I was part of a conference, and they broke us into small teams and gave each a Polaroid camera and a “passport” with tasks (e.g. take a picture of a specific animal, take a picture of two team members getting off Kraken, etc). There was a big award ceremony and dinner afterwards. It was a very cool.

Not a lawyer either, but clearly Disney isn't going to let you run some sort of business inside their parks without their approval. You gain the benefits of the surroudings with none of the costs.

Umm yeah definitely NO stunts going on. All my challenges are more like you mentioned above. Puzzles, scavenger hunts, brain teasers, etc.

Could you do some sort of kit with the tasks, instructions etc and sell it on Etsy?
