I am so heartbroken… Early this morning the love of my life passed on. Kris was in quite a bit of pain so I know it was time. I had time to prepare,as you all know, but, somehow that really didn’t ease the pain. I‘m typing and crying my eyes out. I don’t know who I am apart from “us”
I was just coming here to ask about you, dazed. I’m so sorry to read this, right before Christmas. I don‘t pretend to understand how you feel, but I can send lots of love and prayers your way. I was hoping there were some good moments at the wedding. We’re here for you. :grouphug:

I am so sorry. If you need a place to vent or a shoulder to cry on, we're all here for you

I have nothing much to say this morning. I am heartbroken for one of our Quacker family's loss. Frog3101 told me about it in a pm, before I even had a chance to get on here and read posts, was such a shock to hear it. Even when you know it's coming, it's never easy. I hope @dazedx3 knows that we are all here for her, in any way we can be.

Storm warning for tomorrow. 5-7" of snow, followed by ice, then rain. They had better be wrong.
Have a nice morning, stay warm and safe

Happy Wednesday...I was up early with Dolly again this morning, I had a rough night sleeping so tried to get her to go back to bed after she went out but it was a no go. LoL Now she's napping and I have stuff to do so despite my desire to go back to bed for a little bit, I'm trying to decide what to get started on....wrapping or more baking. I'll be going to the grocery store later night for our Christmas Day food.

I don't know if I mentioned the day after Christmas I'm going with my two friends to a close by casino/hotel for a couple nights to celebrate one of their birthdays(the 26th). We used to go to Las Vegas every year but stopped with Covid... this year we decided to do something closer to home. My friends go often so they get free rooms and food comps, so it will be fun and fairly cheap...lol I'm looking forward to it, it's been awhile since we've hung out for more than just a dinner.

Jack's sister called and wanted him to help but grave mounds on their parents' grave plus a couple others. Then I met them for lunch at a little neighborhood restaurant in their hometown.

The mail came bring the last of the gifts we had ordered. We now have everything. Let the wrapping begin. I actually wrapped most of Jack's gifts while he was out with his sister.

I'm trying to decide what to get started on....wrapping or more baking.
Cookie baking done. We have made snickerdoodles, chocolate chip, sugar, peanut butter blossoms, no-bake chocolate oatmeal, and meringues. And there are only 2 of us and we no longer give as gifts. (Always gave to our parents and the kids' teachers and bus drivers.)

Today, we start wrapping for the kids and grandkids.

Sun is shining, temp is 40. I put the car cover on, just in case. It's so much easier to just pull the snow off instead of trying to brush it off. I got the shovels out of the cellar too, just in case.
And of course the new table is supposed to be delivered tomorrow. It left CA on Monday, was in NM yesterday and scheduled for delivery tomorrow. Who knows if it will show up or not, if the weather is bad. Sometimes Fed Ex pulls the trucks off the roads when it gets too bad.

Made a batch of fudge, added walnuts, raisins, dried cranberries, and mini marshmallows. Put half in the freezer, leaving half out for company. Called sister in law and told her if it's slippery or 0 degrees, that we will do Christmas dinner another night. Her van does not handle slippery roads

I forgot to tell you guys. She went to the bank yesterday morning, and withdrew $40,000 in cash to buy a new car. She hasn't even decided on a car yet, why the rush? Now she has to hide it somewhere until she needs it. I suggested wrapping it and putting it in the deep freezer. She told me that the 3 car dealers she's talked to, said when you pay cash for a vehicle, it literally has to be cash? How many people are literally going to be carrying that kind of money around?? I thought a cashiers check proved you had the funds and weren't taking out a loan? Makes no sense to me. She said they gave it to her in $100 bills, and had to count it 3x in front of her to verify it was all there. I think she's crazy to keep that kind of cash in the house until she actually picks out a car, but what do I know, lol!

Have a nice afternoon
