Picnic In The Park still available?

I did a search on the forums and nothing came up. Does anyone know if Animal Kingdom Park still offers their "Picnic In The Park?"

I rather enjoyed that a few years ago, and am trying to make some plans for my next trip.

Nope.
. . . people were eating anywhere, instead of designated "picnic" areas
. . . was creating a crowd problem when eating in non-eating areas
. . . plus, people left trash in non-eating areas and it was a mess to clean-up after them

This is only available during Christmas week, and probably won't be available after that. They did the same thing last year.

It may not help the OP but someone else may find the information helpful,
it has been extended to Jan 5 2013.

Thanks for the replies. It was nice when it first came out. The green picnic bag, huge sandwiches, huge rice krispie treats. It was a pretty good deal. There was a great place under the Tree of Life with 2 or 3 picnic tables.

Oh well... might try some new place in Africa or somewhere.
