Label everything-each film canister and videotape, hats and jackets-anything that you take or wear to a park that you can't or don't want to replace. I printed out labels with our last name and cell phone number so that if we lose something, we can receive a message while we are still there.

Use zip strips through your zippers instead of locks. Bring enough for trip home. Tie bandanas on handle to easily recognize at airport.
CARRY ON BAGS
To fit under the seat, a bag should be no more than 8H x 16W x 21L and no more than 40 pounds. To fit overhead, it should be no more than 10H x 16W x 24L. A garment bag brought on board should be no more than 4H x 23?? W x 45L. Any of these bags should be no more than 45 inches and 40 pounds. (Check your airline's website for their specific rules.)

I have 1 question... what are zip strips? well 2 questions..where do you find them? I'm always looking around travel gear sections and have never noticed them.
Like to add an addition to the carry-on for adults...reading material. I always have 2 magazines and a book for the flight (along with word search or such puzzles) and on my last trip a gentleman was bored enough to read one of my magazines. I don't think anyone in his party had reading material and it's a 2 1/2 hour flight. Good time to flip thru those Disney guide books or start that book you've been putting off.
Love seeing other peoples lists. I've added a few very helpful items to my own cause of other's lists. One of my faves is an extension cord.
Also... I was hunting down a personal fan for my upcoming trip and found a pack of 2 that have a clip (cheap) that will attach to my pack. They were at Target in the summer stuff, at my local one it was up by the registers with some sidewalk chalk, bubble blowing stuff and outdoor folding chairs. They were $2.99 and each takes a AA battery but they come with batteries. Not sure how they will hold up but I didn't like lugging my spray/mister back in 2000. Plus I have a smaller pack for this trip.
