Hi all. We are travelling to Disneyland from Australia next year. THis year when we were in Orlando they had some great outlet shopping malls close by. Is there anything around the Anaheim area. Would really like stuff like Osh Kosh and Gap etc. Can any one let me know.
Thanks

There aren’t any traditional outlet malls near DL. The closet one is called The Citadel and can be easily reached by taking the 5 fwy north. It should only take you 30 min w/no traffic. The only down side is that it’s quite small compared to other outlets. But they do have The Gap and OshKosh. Here’s a link for a complete listing of stores http://www.citadeloutlets.com/

Closer to DL (5-10 mins away) is the Block of Orange which is an outdoor/entertainment mall with a handful of outlet stores like Ann Taylor outlet and Off 5th (an outlet for the upscale Saks Fifth Ave department store). http://www.theblockatorange.com/static/node848.jsp;jsessionid=aFtFP0jCz6FexYhQP6

If you are looking for the major outlet malls they are located in the out lying areas.

Camarillo Outlet (just north of LA) http://premiumoutlets.com/outlets/outlet.asp?id=20

Desert Hills Outlet (near Palm Springs) http://www.premiumoutlets.com/outlets/outlet.asp?id=6

Carlsbad Outlet (north of SD) http://www.premiumoutlets.com/outlets/outlet.asp?id=66

These should take you about 1-2 hrs to get to from DL with Carlsbad being the closest.

I would also recommend South Coast Plaza http://www.southcoastplaza.com/ which, IMO, is the best shopping mall in Southern California. Many people are scared off by all the luxury boutiques (Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Armani, Gucci etc), but they have many affordable stores that should not be missed and many have wonderful sales. I love Zara for very hip European clothes at very reasonable prices. The mall has a shuttle that service many of the hotels near Disneyland (see website)

Also across the street from the mall is a place called Metro Pointe http://www.metropointe.com/ which as a Nordstrom outlet with tons of designer stuff, especially shoes!!

what would CA be without shopping, I'll have to also do that. Thanks for that info :santa:

IIRC, unless it's been added recently, there isn't a GAP at Citadel :( There's an Old Navy though. -- and while certainly not my favorite outlet mall and NOTHING compared to the outlet options at WDW, they've added quite a few stores in the last few months and Citadel is at least worth the stop now a days.

Another option PP didn't mention (that I saw) is Ontario. I'm not from OC, but I believe it's probably closer then Carlsbad, definatly closer then Camarillo.

We went to both Citidal and Ontario outlet mall when we went in May. We loved the Ontario mall and found alot of great deals...but then again the shopping in Canada cannot compare to what you can find in the States. Both malls had a lot of selection, and with 2 teenagers we needed that, I think we were in the Ontario mall from 10:30 - 5:30....by then my husband and son couldn't stand to shop anymore...while my daughter and I were just getting started.

The Block and Ontario Mills are your best and closest bets. Ontario being better because the place is huge. If you do go to Ontario, go during the day on a weekday. If you go on the weekend, go first thing in the morning. Ontario has both of the stores you are looking for.

this is a good site to go to also,
www.outletbound.com
there are some coupons to be had which you can save a bit.
I always just go to the customer service desk and say that i am a visitor, also, if you have ama or aaa you can get the coupon book at citadel.
