OREGON VACATION - need help!

DH is trying to plan a vacation to Oregon. He is intrigued by the idea of hiking, rafting, horseback riding and visiting wineries. I know NOTHING about Oregon except it is between California and Washington. Anyone have any tips/advice/websites to check out? I've tried Googling some combos of the words, but there is just too much info out there for me and I find it overwhelming.

Thanks! I've sent the link to DH, since it is his turn to plan the vacation (I have planned EVERY vacation we have gone on together so now, FINALLY, he has to plan one).

I live in Oregon.

We have wonderful vacation experiences.

2 hours east from PDX is Mt Hood.
4 hours further east away from PDX is desert resorts. (Sun River, Black Butte, etc).
2 hours west are the beaches.
1 hour south west wineries.
The Columbia Gorge is breathtaking. Try Skamania Lodge in Stevenson Wash.
And Downtown Portland is a lot of fun, too.

Just try to come when we are least likely to have our famous liquid sunshine.
(That's why it is so pretty).

Which part of Oregon do you plan to visit? There is much to see all over the state. Let me know and I can try to give you some sugestions.
