So that's a check... check what Vegas limits to under 21 besides alcohol... I am sure restaurants are ok.. but maybe some night activities regardless check for IDS even if not drinking.. Casinos are nice to check out as many have themes.. not sure if under 21 or 18 is the rule.. I have only been when I was older.. so I didnt think to check and don't recall being checked.. When I was there vegas had a great club scene..Yes, just can't order alcoholic drinks.
In January the pools are probably closed. When I went in February they all were because it was in the low 40s.There’s actually a lot for kids to do in Vegas. Shows, rollercoasters, circus, great pools, lots of food. I don’t gamble but I love the place for a night or two. My teens love it, but for a week...um no.
If you were a gambler the Vegas trip could end up costing more than a cruiseThanks for the inputs so far.
No, we are not gamblers - we will really only be in Vegas for the shows - The Beatles Cirque Show, maybe Lady Gaga, Penn and Teller, Blue Man Group etc - really more of a show tours than a typical Vegas experience. We have never been there before.
There's enough to do for a few days without actually gambling. And it's proximity to LA makes it a not-bad option to pair with DL. But with that said I don't think it's a great trip to do solo, as many of the (non-gambling) things they offer feel like they work better with 2 or more people. I suppose that's a side effect of their whole "What happens in Vegas" campaign.Cruise. No question. Never had any desire to go anywhere near Las Vegas.
I did say in a previous post it would be cold, but I just got back from a Quebec cruise that was freezing and people were swimming...some people are polar bears. In January the pools are probably closed. When I went in February they all were because it was in the low 40s.
It’s not much different then NYC in my opinion. Both are cities that never sleep. I think Vegas is cleaner though.Cruise. No question. Never had any desire to go anywhere near Las Vegas.

They just hand them to my teenage son.LoL I was referring to trash. NYC is pretty dirty but it seems especially dirty after you cruise through Canada. I’m not a fan of big cities, but I wont shy away from any of them. They all have there plus and minuses including Vegas. You kind of know what your getting when you visit Vegas. Both have fake Mickey's... About being cleaner, not sure.. If you have kids, don't let them look down to those "playing cards" most people drop on the sidewalks, specially if you are walking the strip at night...

The poster lives in NYC said and she'd never go to Vegas. Personally I think if you can tolerate NYC you can tolerate Las Vegas. I can tolerate both for a very limited time...two days max. Las Vegas has a pretty big suburb with families and normal working people. I believe the population is around 2 million.NYC? Where'd that come from? I wouldn't necessarily call NYC a comp to Vegas. Maybe in terms of lights but otherwise no.
It is risque but I think it is the best Cirque out there. Perfect mix of old Vegas showy and new Vegas artsy.Cirque's Zumanity (@ New York, New York) (adult only - might not recommend)
Stratophere's slingshot. Gives you the amazing feeling of floating over the Vegas strip. In the top ten of my best experiences in my life.I KNOW I'm forgetting things, but the point is that if you want to see and do a bunch of stuff, Vegas has a TON to offer that has nothing to do with gambling.
Have to disagree here. Don't do any research. Just go, wander, explore, you can't miss the excitement. My first trip I just wandered around and gaped at everything. Blew me away. You just have to do the research.
