I need to get tickets for 8 of us. I would like the early entry tickets if possible. We'll be in California tomorrow-Monday.

What days would be better to go (ha!! I am sure thats a loaded question)?

We want to take the kiddos to Universal too.

We have reservations @ the Hilton Anaheim California. Has anyone ever stayed there?

The only way to get early entry is to have a 3 or more day hopper or be staying at one of the DL hotels. Since you're only going to be there one day and not staying on site, looks like you're out of luck on that one. As for what day will be best, who knows? NYE is traditionally very crowded (ok, along with July 4 it's the most crowded day of the year), but there's a big storm in the forecast and it might keep a lot of locals away. Many CMs seem to think NYD won't be too bad, but as it's the only day of the 3-day weekend with no rain in the forecast, I would expect the crowds to desend by mid-day. If it's raining (especially the downpour they're predicting at the moment), parades, Fantasmic and fireworks will likely be cancelled.

Wednesday is typically the slowest day of the week - but once the New year break is over anytime from Tuesday onwards should be a little easier with crowds.

As mentioned, you can't get the early entry ticket, so make sure you get to the gates half an hour before they open with tickets already in hand, and make extensive use fastpasses.
