My family was at Disney May 3-8, we had not been in four years so there were several rides/shows that were new to us.
Met or Exceeded Expectations:
FoP: Wow, great ride. I have trouble with motion sickness and was VERY nervous about riding this. I can do Soarin but not ST and no spinning rides for me. I took a Dramaine that day and was fine on the ride, so worth it!
7DMT: Loved the theming of the ride and it was smooth. Like the traditional Disney content. Was really happy to ride this twice.
Soarin: Had been on Soaring before with old movie, enjoyed the new around the world movie, nice update.
Rivers of Light: count us in as those that enjoyed the show, really beautiful in a different way.
Movie Magic and Star Wars Fireworks: awesome shows both, had a great spot to see everything.
HDDR: Had never been, DD requested we try it and it was really fun. Not sure I would do it every trip but would be nice to see the Christmas version I think.
Trader Sams: wow, such fun. Was a hassle to wait on line 30 min but worth it.
One and Done rides for us included:
Navi River: pretty but what a let down and certainly not worth the 40 min. wait. When we got to the end everyone in our boat was like "that's it?" I just feel like they could have done so much more.
FEA: Not really a Frozen fan so my expectations were low but again... they could have added more to this ride in terms of keeping kids interest.
BOG: Not a ride or show but wow sort of a let down. Four years ago we couldn't get in for any meal the whole trip so was excited to get a breakfast reservation. Too chaotic, loud, like a cafeteria.
Disney Springs: This was a mixed bag for us. Many trips we have skipped DTD but decided to devote an evening here with all the new stuff. Dinner at Boathouse was ok, good food but loud, crowded and out of a few menu items. Walking around and shopping was also crowded but there were some good stores and street performers to watch. I would probably do this again with there being so many great new restaurants to try.
