Day 4 - Around the world to find some ketchup!
Monday 4th January 2016
Part 2 - PASS THE KETCHUP!!!
We had dinner booked in Whispering Canyon, I’d been before at lunch time but was excited to come in the evening!
It was really handy having our hired car, we drove to the Wilderness Lodge and parked up.
This was my parents first time seeing this resort and they were really impressed! It was decorated so beautifully for Christmas, the tree was ENORMOUS!
We checked in and received a buzzer
We waited a little while in the lobby to be called for dinner, I really didn’t mind waiting at all, the lobby is so pretty!
Dad and Rachel were looking up the details of the expo, it was only two days away now!
Our buzzer went off and we were taken to our table. There is so much fun to be had at Whispering Canyon but you do have the option to opt out of being ‘involved’ if you prefer. We of course were more than willing to participate!
Our waiter came around and took our orders, we all went for the all you can eat skillet with a bottomless milkshake.
Some wonderful corn bread arrived right away and it was scrumptious!
Our milkshakes came next, these babies are super indulgent and really heavy so I tried to sip mine slowly…

Rachel realised at this point that she had not got her phone on her! She went back out to the lobby but it wasn't at the sofa so we checked with the check-in desk for the restaurant and they sent someone off to look for it.
Luckily he returned phone in hand! YAH! Thanks to the random stranger that handed it in... Disney magic!!
SKILLET TIME
SO MUCH FOOD!! NOM NOM NOM!
Those mash potatoes are amazing.. I loved the corn on the cob (I’m known for being a bit obsessed with corn on the cob back home) and the pork.
We were given extra helpings of anything we wanted, I know we got extra potatoes and ribs but I wanted to save some room because we also got desert with our dining plan…
We got two of the chocolate ooey goey cake, an apple cobbler and an apple and caramel
There was lots of fun bits happening while we were eating including of course a few people looking for KETCHUP!
The kids were taking on a *horse* ride around the restaurant and a whole family was sent to jail.
We were STUFFED to brim after desert so we waddled back out towards the car

We drove back to our room, stuck on a bit of Stacey and drifted off to sleep. We had an early start tomorrow for breakfast at BOG.

I would definitely recommend it, make sure you go on an empty stomach!
I think it's new for 2016 but they had it all over while we were there.

We had an early start today with a pre-park opening breakfast at BOG for 8:05AM. We got ourselves ready and out the door, MK here we come!
I really like the early morning reservations it’s so nice to get into the park early and get some nice photos with a really quite or sometimes even empty Main Street USA.
We arrived at MK around 7.45AM eager to get in early to find this
A queue to get in for those with early reservations or tours! I’d never seen this before! The line was actually for anyone with a reservation before 9.15AM! This seemed a bit strange and rather an unnecessary queue! From previous experience you would just show up and walk straight in and as everyone had different reservation times there was never much of a wait either as people showed up at different times. Now we were all going to have to wait and then everyone would be let in together 8AM. BOO!
8AM came and we got in!
We didn’t have much time before our reservation so we got a few quick snaps
Dad was loving being the centre of attention..
Now I know my photos aren't particularly amazing but my Dad is awful at framing a shot and getting the WHOLE CASTLE in the picture

We had pre-ordered our breakfast so we waited in the short pre-order queue. There was no wait to go through the ordering processes either so this didn’t really save us time.
When we came in the ballroom was really busy and just as we were about to take a seat they opened up the library so we went there instead as it was nice a quite!
We had all ordered the Open-Faced Bacon and Egg Sandwich so we grabbed some *free* coffee while we waited.
We weren’t waiting long at all which was great because I was well over my feast the night before and ready eat some breakfast!!
(my appetite in Disney is CRAZY!)

You only get one Pastry Tray per table regardless of whether it’s 2 or 4 people, I didn’t mind too much as there was plenty in the main breakfast to fill me up.
We finished up and I took a quick snap on the way out of the beautiful ballroom... I shall see you soon!
I liked the breakfast and it’s a great use of a counter service credit especially with the early entry included. I think for $20 though there are better options available, I would prefer to pay the extra for crystal palace if I was paying out of pocket and choose BOG as a lunch option.

Part 2 - Show us your dance moves!
After breakfast we popped into Village Gifts to once again check on the status of Lumiere, unfortunately the answer was the same as before, he was sold out park wide and they had no date for when he would be back in stock.
We hopped on over to the winnie the pooh ride next!
Lemme take a selfie
I had tried to get one with just me and Mam but Dad and Rachel were having none of it!
I really like this ride.. it’s just classic and fun and you get to hop along with Tiger… what more could you want?
Seen as we were in the area and it is Rachel’s FAVOURITE ride we just HAD to
I always take LOADS of pics on this ride! I can't help it!
We had a fastpass to meet Anna and Elsa so that was our next stop. This fastpass is SO hard to get and you hear people at the fastpass plus machines around the park asking CM’s about fastpasses for this and Seven Dwarfs Mine train knowing they were probably booked out over 60days ago! Even when we hit our 60day mark it was difficult to get a decent time in the first few days of our trip. I’ve really enjoyed meeting the frozen sisters in the past and Anna is probably one of my favourite face characters (behind Gaston of course) when she is on form she’s a hoot!
Lucky for us Anna was very much on form today! She was delighted to hear that we were sisters and then asked us what we liked to do together. I told her we danced together and she got super excited! She moved right out of the way and asked us to show her a dance move with the promise that she would show us her dance move afterwards.

Next up was Elsa who explained how she was getting blamed for the cooler weather lately but promised that it wasn’t her this time
We ventured across to future world next to shoot some aliens. I can't remember who won which means it wasn't me but I do remember Dad making us spin loads when I'd given him specific instructions to leave the handle alone!!
Our next fastpass was Big Thunder Railroad.. the WILDEST RIDE IN THE WILDERNESS!!
This is one of the train style rollarcoasters that my Mam will ride on…
They need to get a ride photo on this!
We had timed using our fastpasses so that when we came out of Big Thunder we could go straight on Splash. We didn’t really need the fast pass for this however as it wasn’t very warm so there wasn’t a big queue. We totally wimped out and got under our ponchos but our ride photo never came through onto my account…
We were feeling a little peckish again so we decided to get a snack from Sleepy Hallow. I also stopped by a fastpass plus kiosk and got us a fourth fastpass for Monsters Inc Laughter Floor.
Despite all that is said about the yummy treats to be had at Sleepy Hallow I only tried my first ice-cookie sandwich on the last day of our trip last year so I was really excited to head back!

We were getting a bit tired now and we had to be back for our 5pm reservation at 1900 Park Fare so we decided to have a quick trip to the Laugh Floor before heading back to our room to chill and get ready

The park was getting quite busy as we were leaving so I was quite happy to head back to the room

Oh, No, not BoG, the Cinderella Castle. Any time we've been there there hasn't been access through or near it with refurb and redesign wor either on the castle or in the area, and you guys are up there in the picture your dad took

You planned out such a terrific trip! I very much approve of your ADR choices Also, I love your Disney attire- so adorable! Oh, and I had to comment that I really love your Mom's outfit that she wore on night two I believe (the floral pants and black top) It's super cute!

Day 5 - Breakfast with a beast & dinner with a beauty
Tuesday 5th January 2016
Part 3 - Hey there Prince Charming!
We had a bit of time back at the room to get ready before heading to the Grand Floridian for dinner. We left ourselves plenty of time to get there so we could get the bus to MK and then go around the monorail loop.
STAR WARS MONORAIL
We stopped for a little photoshoot when we arrived
Such a pretty backdrop! A lovely stranger stopped and offered to take a family photo… THANK YOU STRANGER
I could not get enough of the Christmas tree, it’s so beautiful and BIG!
We walked down to 1900 Park Fare and checked in, we were able to go through straight away… SCORE!
There was a pre-dinner photo
We were seated and I was pretty hungry so it was straight up to the buffet!
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ravioli
I think this buffet is one of the best for the standard of food, they had some beautiful meat and lots of different dishes to choose from.
Of course one of the big attractions is also the character interaction. You can have lots of fun just watching the ugly sisters as they parade around and cause absolute mayhem!
First to our table was Cinderella herself
Hahaha... this photo tells a story in itself! Cinderalla was asking my Mam if Dad was her Prince Charming and I joked that he wasn't particularly charming
Next was Prince Charming (last visit we had to most boring Prince Charming ever but this time he had a bit of chat for us!)
This photo is so funny... Rachel looks like she's standing guard!
Oh hi Prince Charming... do you like my hair??
Don't they always look SO HAPPY?!
AND... one of my favourite characters
You HAVE to pay her compliments. Last time we came we didn't and she threw us dirty looks everytime she walked past! We didn't even get a photo!
Mam complimenting Lady Tremaine's hair
Drizella was up next and she was a HOOT!
She took a shine to the group beside us when she found out that they had a very eligible brother. She demanded that they call him… and so they did!! She sat with them for a good 10mins, it was really funny!
These buffets are such hard work… Eat, drink, POSE, Eat drink, POSE

Anastasia was next..
We finished up our meal and decided that we would take a trip to Epcot as it was open for EMH.

We took a ride on Spaceship Earth and Dad jabbed the screen (because it’s so slow) and ended up selecting his hometown in the middle of the Atlantic somewhere!
We then took a stroll into the World Showcase

Epcot at night is perfection! It really comes to life in the evening.
We didn’t really have a particular agenda other than to take a stroll around and see what took our fancy.
I had a reservation here later in our trip.. I've never been before! EEEEEEEEEEEEK!
Chef de France is already scheduled for later in our trip as well but how amazing does it look all lit up?!

I couldn’t believe it was finally here!

Great photo in front of Spaceship Earth-- I love that ride! When I did princess this year, I decided to do most of my vacation after (mostly because I didn't want to mess with President's Day crowds). I'm curious how your legs held up after touring for a few days.

Day 6 – Aloha! It’s almost time to run!
Wednesday 6th January 2016
Part 1 – Only a dope would buy EVERYTHING
The morning of the Expo had arrived, I felt a weird mix of nervousness and excitement that sort of varied from one extreme to the other! We got up nice and early and drove to the Expo at Wide World of Sports for 9am. I think the official opening was 10am but I knew it had opened earlier in previous years.
We parked up and I was surprised that the carpark itself wasn’t too busy, I don’t think the buses were even running at this stage. We got into the line outside the Jostens Center for the official merch and waited for opening.
I think the queue started letting in around 9.40am and we followed the large crowd over to the official rundisney merch, pretty much EVERYONE was headed here and so it was crazy busy from the start
I pretty much grabbed everything I saw that I liked in a Medium and in most cases grabbed a small for Rachel too when she wasn’t beside me.
It was busy as we arrived in but that was nothing compared to how busy it got as we were shopping! One of the key items that was literally disappearing off the shelves was the Dopey jackets
They were expensive (I think around $80) but I wanted to get something nice that was Dopey themed and also unisex so that we could get pictures of the three of us wearing it. We grabbed a few sizes. I think I had a medium and realised it was too big so I went for a small, Dad went for a large for length and he dropped back the extra sizes. In the short time we had taken to try these on (in a less crowded area) ALL of the smaller sizes had disappeared. Dad said someone gratefully took the mediums from him as he went to place them back on the shelf.
I also loved these tank tops, again Dopey themed
AND we got to see our medals in person for the first time! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!
So after grabbing EVERYTHING I liked I then found a quieter area so I could go through everything I’d picked up and decide on what I actually wanted to buy. Even though we had been in really early already the queue to pay was outside of the queuing ropes and it was really difficult to find any space to sort of stand and go through your stuff. I didn’t do very well at picking out the things I wanted to keep… I WANTED EVERYTHING!!! I had budgeted for a big spend this day, this was a massive event for us but I still feel like I went a little overboard! I definitely spent more than my Dad and my Sister… OOOOOPS!
While we were queuing I realised we hadn’t gotten the ‘I did it’ t-shirts so I jumped out and grabbed us all one. We had a look around the rest of the expo, I got some compression socks and a Minnie visor.
We then headed straight over to get out race packet in Field house and it was pretty smooth and not a long wait.
It was only here that we realised that we should have picked up our race shirts in the Jostens Centre… DOH! Luckily there wasn’t a queue to get back in. We got our tops, tried them on quickly, I changed from small to medium which was really easy to do and then we left.
I apologise for the wordy update but it was really busy and I just didn’t get to take too many photos. Although it was quite busy and a bit crazy around the official merch there was also this really fun exciting atmosphere in the air!
We got back to the room and I took this picture of my race shirts:
I LOVE the shirts! They are all so nice and I really like the colours!
And of my official rundisney tops I bought from the front
And the back where there was a design
I also bought a few other bits, a Dopey pin and a rundisney water bottle.
We chilled in the room for a little bit, we had afternoon fastpasses at Animal Kingdom!

I would have much prefered if we could have arrived and got the runs done straight away however the way the days worked for us that just didn't make sense. The Expo was on a Wednesday so we would have wanted to arrive Tuesday at the latest and as the previous Friday was a bank holiday it just made sense to take one extra day of work (Monday) and get 4 extra days in Disney!
I would have been so much better with the time difference too if we could have arrived right before the runs as 3am Orlando time is 8am Irish time! Perfect!
They are to DIE for!!!!!!!!!!!! I love going to France in the evening, you have the Grand Marnier and the patisserie as well... what more could you want!
