***Official June 2018***

Ok! I'll have to throw that time in on the reservation finder, maybe we'll see you there!
Definitely keep me posted.

OH! We're going to be at HS the morning of the 7th. Were you still planning to hit ToT that day?

I'm way too nervous about flights to go to HS that morning, so we're gonna do MK instead I think. Our HS is gonna be Saturday evening and Monday morning for sure and possibly the evening too.
I should say Sat the 2nd and Monday the 4th

I hear ya. I'm comfortable doing HS the morning we leave only because we're staying at YC at that point!

Yeah the flight we got was far earlier than I expected so even though we can do RAC and have pre-check, I'm still always nervous about timing, go figure. So I'll just hang out in the MK neighborhood. I feel like most of our evenings, other than that HS night are TBD so maybe we can make it work some other day!

Yep we were there that night as well. I was completely exhausted so I was definitely sitting most of the time!

Also was anyone doing Crystal Palace breakfast on Sunday June 3rd? I'm thinking of switching to that because Sunday brunch there would be so nice!

We are doing 10:30 that day as we will be recovering from our night at Universal. I gave up our 8 am as I wasn't sure we could pull it off.

We've got pre-check, too. Every time we hit security at MCO, and I'm looking at the decidedly non-magical posted wait times for the regular lines, I congratulate myself on the best $85 I ever spent!!!!!!! :cool1: Though I've got to go get DS his own KTN this summer since he turns 13 in September... :crazy2:

Oh is 13 the cut off? I'm already considering it because Dylan flies unaccompanied so frequently. But I've also been told that Non-Passenger Escort cannot use Pre-Check so I'm gonna ask my local TSA agents what their policy is. Not that it won't change but at least I'll know.

Has anyone else listened to / watched this week's Dis Unplugged?

I did, on the way to work and back home today. It was... really difficult to listen. The team made some excellent and, at times, extremely impassioned, points, and I now feel really weird about our trip. Almost like I'm doing something wrong.

For those of you repeaters, do you ever feel guilty about going? I know that's kind of a weird question, but after listening particularly to Ryno, I'm second guessing what I'm doing.

I did and I totally agree with some of the things they have to say. As locals they have some good perspective on things. However, I think as long as you're happy, feel value in your vacation then that's entirely your choice what to do with your money. I definitely disagree with the parking fee and I really hope this feedback they got makes them rethink the policy in the future.

I am feeling the same way. We have two trips planned this Summer. We drive and the fees will affect us. Our reservations were made before the 21st so no fees this time. We will definitely not stay on property for any future visits we make. We also have APs which we will not be renewing.
The whole thing has left me with an assortment of negative feelings which is really bumming me out. Everything is planned so we are going forward and I know we will enjoy our trips. But this is definitely messing with the magic for us.

Frozen dessert party is available if anyone is looking. HEA still shows to be unavailable, but no longer greyed out, so hoping it is completely loaded in the next day or two. Is it bad that I am thinking of doing all 3 of them, Star Wars, Frozen and HEA?

Hey, I say go all out if you want!

I'm still mulling around with going to a Dessert Party. I really want to do an Illuminations one, but the Frozen aspect is not exactly appealing to me. I hadn't even considered the Star Wars dessert party so theres one more to think about.

We are not big sweets people, but the atmosphere and easy viewing are big sells for me.

Okay, so I watched it. And the fact is they hit the nail on the head with a lot of things. And I do agree that nothing will change if people still go. But for me, I guess I haven’t hit my breaking point yet. And to further complicate things for me, even though I’ve been going for 41 years, my kids have just started going, my DH just got hooked, we just bought DVC. So our trips are actually going to ramp up from here on out. Also, not that we are completely unaffected by price increases but some of these increases don’t affect us bc we are DVC and I do research and find deals and discounts, so I make it work for us.

I will say that the parking fee may have us looking at the DS hotels when we do cash ressie. I’m not ready to go completely offsite though bc I like my 60 day FP perk.

Selfishly, I want to keep going and have others do the “protesting” so Disney feels the pain in its wallet. But I’m not ready to be the “protester” just yet. It remains to be seen if and when they do implement something that gets us to our breaking point.

Now that I've had time to digest, I've come to basically the same conclusions. I'm NOT at my breaking point. Will that day come? I have no idea. I'm not sure WHAT the breaking point would be. I can say I've definitely noticed a downturn in service since we started coming in 2012, but has it been enough to turn me off? No, because even downturned Disney service is still light years better than service most anywhere else.

We now return you to our regularly scheduled WHY ISN'T IT JUNE YET???? discussions. :tigger:

Haven't listened to the podcast yet, but I did email George K office about the parking fees and got a call back. The overwhelming negative response to the fee on parking I think caught the Disney execs by surprise. Really nice conversation, and since we are AP until August, parking at parks doesn't affect us. But my DD just accepted a summer alumni offer for DCP - normally whomever drove down with her would stay onsite and use ME back to airport. This time- no. And not down on pickup either- and I told that to the rep who called. So Disney lost my dollars there. Plus most other chains that do charge fees have rewards programs that waive those fees. I'll stay at Doubletree booked through Mousesavers promo (no fees).

But back to June- so excited that DD will be a CM again with her discounts :rotfl2:.

Did the Caring for Giants tour on mine and DD's quick trip last week and thinking I may book that for whole family for June.

Booked my flights over the weekend. Looks like my travel dates are June 11-19 now. We are taking a day off in the middle to visit a beach. Anyone used Disney Rental Car center before?

We've rented from MCO for a few days and returned the car to Disney Car Care and it was easy peasy. The car was from Alamo.
